ON A NOTE
The accessories measures approximately:
Cookbook – 4.5 cm (1.7 inches);
Dinosaur toy – 3.5 cm (1.4 inches);
Cap with the pompom - 3 cm (1.2 inches);
You can choose a completely different yarn than suggested here. In this case, you
need to choose the size of the hook yourself.
CONVENTIONS
l – loop = chain;
sc – single crochet;
dc – double crochet;
tr – treble crochet;
sl st – slip stitch;
inc – increase;
dec – decrease;
{sc3tog} – sc next 3 stitches together (single crochet decrease);
(…l) – total number of loops in a round;
[…]xN – repeat what is indicated in round brackets N times.
PAGES
Draw on white felt a rectangle a couple of mm smaller than the cover of the book (I
got 6.5 x 4 cm – 2.6 x 1.6 inches). Draw a leaf on one side and write “EAT ME!” on the
other. Embroider a leaf with light green thread floss using the "fishbone" stitch (see
photos 25-30).
Cut out the pages and attach them to the book. Embroider the binding with light
green thread floss using the seam “back stitch” (see photos 34-38).
To help the book close well, glue neodymium magnets to the back of the cover with
super glue (see photos 39, 40). Then apply glue to the other side of the magnets and
press the pages against them to hide the wrong side.
BOOKMARK
Crochet bookmark with a hook 1 mm using green mouline treads.
1: 8 loops, turning, 7 sl st (starting from the 2nd loop from the hook), 1 loop, (next from
the back of the chain) sl st, sc, dc, tr, dc, sc, sl st (14l)
2: dc, 1 loop, sl st, sc, dc, tr, dc, sc, sl st (only through back loops), 25 loops (see photos
41-45)
Cut and fix the thread, leaving a long end for sewing. Sew the bookmark to the book
(see photos 46-48).
CRESTS
Crochet crests with a hook 1 mm using green mouline treads.
1: 19 loops, turning, [sc, 1 loop, dc in the same loop (in which the last sc was crocheted
before 1 loop) 2 sl st]х6
Cut and fix the thread, leaving very long end for sewing. Sew the crests to the back
(see photos 58-59).
Move the thread to the middle of the tummy (see photo 60). Crochet the rope: 40
loops, turning sl st in the 20th loop from the hook. Trim the thread (see photos 61-63).
