Introduction
This manual describes how to

1. Download the latest map data for PCC map updates

2. Install the latest map data onto a USB drive for map updates

Consult the Predictive Cruise Control (PCC) service manual for procedures for the following:

• Checking for availability of newer map data

• Programming the USB installed map data into the PCC ECU

Map Data Installation

How to download the latest Map Data

1. From the Eportal homepage, navigate to the PCC software page (EportalService Tab (1) Software (2)
Predictive Cruise Control (3)).

2. Click on the “2016 Map Data” link to initiate the PCC map data download.
Select the arrow on the “Save” button in the pop-up to open the dropdown box and select “Save as” to save the
map data installer to the desired location.

3. Navigate to the desired folder to save the PCC map data installer. The desktop is the preferred location. Select
“Save” and allow the download complete.

How to install the PCC Map Data to USB Drive

Requirements

1. A USB stick with the following specifications is required:


 USB 2.0 standard (USB 3.0 is not compatible with the installer)
 4 GB or greater capacity
 FAT32 file system
 USB stick must be empty

NOTE
PACCAR recommends the following USB sticks for PCC map updates. Un-
recommended USB drives have been known to cause unsuccessful map data
installations.

2. A Windows administrator account

Procedure
1. Double click on the PCC map data in the folder where the download is saved.

2. A security check dialog box appears. Click on “Run” to continue the installation.

The preparation process for the installation starts.

NOTE
It takes at least 3 minutes to prepare the USB stick for the map data

3. Select the language to be used during the installation and select “Next>” to start the installation process for the
PCC map data.

4. Read the “Read me information” and select “Next>”.

5. Connect the approved USB stick to the PC and wait until Windows recognizes it.

6. Click on “Browse and locate the USB drive.

The data installation progress box appears. It may take up to 2 minutes to complete.

7. Select “Finish” to complete the installation of the PCC map data.

NOTE
The USB stick containing the map data can be used for an unlimited number of PCC map data updates if
the data is the latest available. Therefore, it is advised that the USB stick be labelled for easy recognition.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to solve User Rights Fault


The dialog box below means that the Windows log in account being used is not an administrator type. Click “Cancel”
and log in into the computer using an administrator account.

How to check USB Drive Properties


1. Insert the new USB stick into the USB port of the computer.

2. Right click on the Windows “Start” button. Click on the “Open Windows Explorer” button.

3. Locate the USB drive in Windows Explorer.

4. Right click on “USB DISK” and then left click on the “Properties” tab.

5. The “Format USB DISK” menu box appears. Select “FAT32” file system and click “Start.”
