INTRODUCTION
Technology is everywhere and becomes as common as the air we breathe, it is a part of everybody’s life
in America and all over the world. From the things we carry with us to the things in our homes and offices, we
can’t avoid technology. Yilmaz (2021), an author, writes that people nowadays consider technology as a
necessity rather than a luxury. It’s hard to count the things that are made of technology. It is in our very lives,
from the computer to smart homes, automobiles and cellphones. Because of the fact that technology use is
getting more common every day, it is critically important to understand how it affects our way of living. People
are more and more concerned about the amount of time we spend with technology and that our social lives will
suffer. This is a topic which has been studied by academics in depth. Because of the usage of technology in
teaching, a question arises of great importance.
Yilmaz’s (2021) analysis indicates that 59% of people worldwide utilize the internet. 67% of consumers
utilize mobile devices, and 49% use social media. Stated differently, technology is extensive and a significant
part of people’s life. Raza’s (2020) study also observes that in In 2015, social media usage accounted for 90%
of all American users between the ages of 18 and 29. In In comparison, the same measurement conducted in
2005 revealed that just 12% of this age group reported utilizing social media, enhancing the growing influence
of technology. An additional illustration of the ascent of Kozakowski (2019) revealed that in 2013, a minimum
of thirty percent of the the undergraduate population was enrolled in an online course. We currently live in a
time where technology is a need.
Similar to how technology has combine into our environment, environment, technology has been
included into the classroom with the intention of improving student learning. The group of students. Reclaiming
Conversation author Sherry Turkle (2015) noted that we possess the choice to either modify our pupils to suit
the learning environment or to change the educational setting custom to the requirements of our pupils.
Technology is influencing education both directly and indirectly, so in order to provide the best education
possible, teachers must adapt to these changes and provide their students with a world class learning
environment. this is why most educational institutions adopt the belief that they should create a technologically
advanced environment to transform the existing one. This is done in an effort to represent the culture in which
you will grow up and, hopefully, produce morally upright individuals who can manage that society influence by
technology.
The COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in 2019, and by the spring of 2020, countries around the globe
were shutting down. Suddenly, everyone – businesses, schools, families, churches, and all kinds of groups –
had to figure out how to connect online. There was a rush to have everything functioning. Whether students
were learning entirely online or in a combination of online and in person classrooms the difficulty for schools
was figuring out how to teach children in this new environment teachers and students also needed to learn how
to use online resources. With the hybrid approach, half the students would be in the classroom, while the other
half would join in from home using the internet. Although most schools have gone back to in-person learning
now that COVID cases have gone down, technology has become a permanent part of education. It’s being used
more and more in schools, just in case we have to deal with another situation where students need to learn from
home. This means that devices like tablets, Chromebooks, and smartphones are becoming usual sights in
schools. It’s obvious that education needs to be accessible and flexible for everyone.
Integration into high school education has changed how students learn bringing both good and bad. One big
change is how it gets students more involved. Digital tools like interactive programs learning apps, and online
stuff create lively classrooms that work for different ways of learning. Take multimedia shows and game-like
lessons – they grab students’ attention better than old-school methods getting them to take part more in their
schooling. When students are more into it, they often feel more driven and want to join in class talks and team
projects.
Additionally, technology promotes individualization of learning since teachers can customize their teaching
styles to fit different learners. By employing learning management systems (LMS) and adaptive learning
technologies, teachers are able to obtain up to the minute data related to students’ progress and their strengths
and weaknesses. In this way, one can apply the principles of differentiated instruction, whereby each learner is
assisted at their level. This personal approach not only helps those who are left out to conform but also those
who are advanced and need more pushes which leads to improved scholars in general.
While most people tend to appreciate the use of technology in education, certain schools have not yet embraced
this trend. The present socio-historical configuration of the school system guarantees the existence of the digital
divide as explained by Hope (2003). Students in low income families may not have appropriate devices or ICT
connections which prevent them from using available technology in learning. Such disadvantage often results
into differences in performance for example some students may perform well in an environment with
technology while others may perform poorly. Hence technology needs to be distributed amongst the level
institutions so that every sector can improve active participation in the modern technology.
Last but not the least, while it is true that the use of technology improves learning attainment, there is also a
need to change the ways of teaching. Teachers are required to change the way they teach if they want to
incorporate the use of technology in their lesson delivery. Professional development and training are important
for teachers to gain the necessary warmth towards the various new tools and platforms. In addition, it is all too
necessary to temper the use of ICT with some appropriate learning techniques that encourage classic skills like
critical thinking, teamwork, and interpersonal relations in students. Secondary education needs to adhere to a
diploma Prudence regarding technology so that it does not rally against the survey of its benefits if at the same
time the students are adequately prepared for the quest by the modern day’s labor market.
Research Question:
a) How does technology integration affect student learning outcomes? (Central question)
i) What is the impact of technology on having learning outcomes? (sub question)
b) How does integrated learning and learning improve students learning? (central question)
i) What are the benefits of technology integration to the students? (sub question)
Scope and Delimitation:
This research will examine how the use of technology in secondary schools affects student learning. Our
goal is to understand how these technologies impact students’ grades, their motivation to learn, their critical
thinking skills, and their ability to work together and communicate effectively. We’ll also assess how
technology helps students develop digital skills.
This study will focus on secondary students (9-12) While we recognize the importance of teacher
training, we won’t directly study its impact on technology integration. We’ll focus on the immediate effects of
using technology in the classroom, not on long-term consequences.
Method of Data Gathering
Conduct surveys and interviews with both students and teachers. Furthermore, classroom observations
can be conducted to directly observe how technology is being used in the learning environment and how
students interact with it.
