I. Vision

The Technological University of the Philippines shall be a premier state university with
recognized excellence in engineering and technology education at par with leading
universities in the ASEAN region.

II. University Mission (PD 1518)

The University shall provide higher and advanced vocational, technical, industrial,
technological, and professional education and training in industries and technology, and
in practical arts leading to certificates, diplomas, and degrees. It shall provide progressive
leadership in applied research, developmental studies in technical, industrial, and
technological fields and production using indigenous materials; effect technology transfer
in the countryside; and assist in the development of small-and-medium scale industries in
identified growth centers.

III. College Goals

The College of Science shall prepare students to become well-rounded individuals,


scientifically literate, and technically competent to assume a dynamic and responsible
leadership for the country’s scientific and technological development in the improvement
of man’s being and the quality of his environment.

V. Department Objectives
The Department of Mathematics shall prepare the students to become confident
in dealing with numbers and computation that are needed for them to complete and finish
their course.

VI. Program Educational Objectives

At the end of the program, a student is expected to:


1. Provide solutions utilizing state-of-the-art tools to a wide variety of computing
problems by applying available technology using principles, theories and skills learned.
2. Work collaboratively either as a team member with a leader or with a partner.
3. Display professional and ethical conduct and prepared in doing social responsibilities.

e. Course Description : Nature of mathematics, appreciation of its practical,
intellectual, and aesthetic dimensions. And
application of mathematical tools in daily life. Topics
in mathematics that every student needs to know to
process, evaluate, and understand the numerical
and graphical information in our society. Applications
of mathematics in problem solving, finance,
probability, statistics, geometry, population growth.
