Note:
When connected, the green LED on 5
the ISO adapter will indicate a 12 V
power supply and the amber LED will
indicate an active diagnostic link. A 4
constantly lit red LED, may indicate a
communication failure between the 3
heater and the computer.
IMPORTANT

After the testing with EDiTH, DO NOT
disconnect the ‘Y’ shaped test adapter
cable until the heater has been switched
off and the cool-down process has been 6
completed.
Hardware Required Activating EDiTH diagnostic tests
1. Double-click the EDiTH shortcut on the desktop to launch the EDiTH program
1 ISO adapter kit (EDiTH basic adapter) : p/n 22 1541 89 0000 2. Click on the ‘Select heater’ icon from the navigation menu displayed
The kit includes; 3. Select the heater type from the groups listed in the far left column
i) ISO adapter (example : Airtronic / Airtronic M / L OR Hydronic B/D 4/5W S/SC etc. )
ii) Black spiral cable with 6-pin connector 4. Click and select the correct heater model number and the correct ECU version
iii) 9-pin to 9-pin serial port connector cable or click and run the ‘Automatic detection’ cycle.
iv) USB 2.0 to 9-pin serial port adapter cable 5. Select the diagnostic test to be activated in the far right column.
v) CD with USB 2.0 to serial port software (example: Error memory, General Data , Functional check or Switch on component)
vi) CD with EDiTH diagnostics software 6. Click on ‘Start test’ button.

EDiTH Diagnostic Software NOTE: The scope of information displayed in these tests will depend on the type of heater and
the ECU version. The fault codes can be cleared by clicking the ‘Delete’ button.

• EDiTH is compatible with most versions of Windows OS, including Windows 7.
• The current version of EDiTH software is S3V11-F (as on June 2011).
• Always uninstall the older version before installing the newer version of the software.
