“THE INFLUENCE OF ELECTRONIC BOOKS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF
CLINICAL NURSING CARE PLAN OF STUDENT NURSE’S IN MARAWI CITY”. An
Undergraduate Thesis. Mindanao Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Marawi City, December,
2019.

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of electronic books in the
development of clinical nursing care plan of student nurse’s in Marawi City. The results of this
study may provide a better understanding of how students learn with e-books and provide faculty
with information to better utilize the e-book to support student in making nursing care plan. The
non-experimental descriptive quantitative research design method was used with one hundred
sixty seven (167) nursing students from selected nursing schools in Marawi City.
Upon acquiring all the data needed for the study, they were tabulated and analyzed with
the combine use of manual counting through frequency, percentage, weighted mean, standard
Deviation, simple linear regression, descriptive explanation, and the utilization of International
Business Machines – Statistical Package for Service Solution (IBM-SPSS) Version 23.
The result of the survey revealed that majority of respondents belongs to the age range of
20-21 years old, mostly2nd year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students, female, and
most of the gadgets they owned is android cell phone. Also the result shows that nursing students
often use electronic books at clinical setting, home, and at school.
Then all of the sub-context of the profile namely: age, gender, year level and gadgets
owned of the student nurses and the frequency of using electronic book at Home, Clinics and
School do significant influences the use of electronic books in making Nursing Care Plan (NCP).
It is being recommended that the use of e-books be supported by institutional head,
faculty, and instructors along with student friendly rules and policies.
