PROGRAMMES & THEMATIC WORK FOCUS:

Apprenticeships -Apprenticeships are an effective mechanism to address the skills mismatch,

enabling young people to transition successfully from school to work. Quality apprenticeships are
a form of technical vocational education and training that combine on-the-job training and off-
the-job learning, enabling the acquisition of the knowledge, skills and competencies required to
carry out a specific occupation. By design, apprenticeships match the skills demanded in the
labour market with those acquired in education and training systems.

Green agriculture to stimulate job creation -Coordinated action is needed for green economies
to create more and better employment opportunities for young women and men. Given the
specific challenges faced by young people today, creating green jobs for youth must involve a
coordinated and multi-faceted effort. While the increasing pressures on future food supplies
present clear opportunities for creating sustainable agricultural jobs for unemployed rural young
people in particular or employment-intensive jobs for low- and semi-skilled youth in different
sectors, a more systemic approach is necessary to make these approaches and certain sectors
sufficiently attractive to them.

Fragile Situations for Youth -Investing in youth employment in fragile situations will boost the
labour market outcomes of some of the most vulnerable young people, including young women
and disabled young people, who are most at risk of being excluded from development gains. With
the vision of ‘’Building youth with sustained employment/jobs in building a sustainable society”,
YOUFROG will capitalize on the interconnected nature of the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) to speed up progress towards decent work opportunities for young women and men and
economic growth.

Intergenerational – Through intergenerational practice YOUFROG aims to bring people together

in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities which promote greater understanding and respect
between generations and contributes to building more cohesive communities. Intergenerational
activities build on the positive resources that the young, older and middle generations have to
offer each other and are an effective way to address issues important to our community. SYA
Intergenerational initiatives fall into three categories, supporting each other, working together
to address community issues, and learning together.

Active Citizenship – YOUFROG embraces the principles of Active Citizenship and this philosophy
is integral to all our work. Young people are encouraged and supported to involve themselves
within the community and engage in volunteering. All projects are youth led, gaining inspiration
from the young people themselves and through service delivery young people learn understand
each other’s differences and to respect one another.
Social Action – YOUFROG encourages social action supporting young people to work together to
effect change both in their lives and within the community, raising funds for issues they feel
passionate about and organising practical tasks.
