• Web Structure Mining -

website design. Web structure mining techniques are used to improve

spam.
• Web Usage Mining -
Web usage mining involves analyzing user behavior on the web,
including clickstream data, search queries, and other interactions with web
pages. Web usage mining can help identify user preferences, behavior
patterns, and trends. This information can be used to personalize content,
improve website design, and target advertising. Web usage mining can also
be used for security purposes, such as detecting fraud and identifying

• The web is too large size :- the web is very huge and rapidly increasing.
• Complexity of web pages:- web pages are very complex and compared to traditional
text document.
• Web is dynamic information source :- Information on the web is rapidly updated.
• Diversity of user community :- User community on the web is rapidly expecting this
users have different background interest and usage purpose.
• Relevancy of information :- A particular person is generally interested in only small
portion of the rest of the portion of the web contains the information that is not relevant
to the user.
Applications of Web Mining
• Personalized marketing:Web mining can be used to analyze customer behavior on websites and social
media platforms. This information can be used to create personalized marketing campaigns that target
customers based on their interests and preferences.

• E-commerce: Web mining can be used to analyze customer behavior on e-commerce websites. This
information can be used to improve the user experience and increase sales by recommending products
based on customer preferences.

• Search engine optimization: Web mining can be used to analyze search engine queries and search engine
results pages (SERPs). This information can be used to improve the visibility of websites in search engine
