I. PROJECT UNDERSTANDING

A. OFFICE AND CANTEEN - This project covers renovation the existing


office and canteen that is within the Jocelyn Forge manufacturing
Area.
The renovations include:
1. interior and exterior upgrading
2. removing interior walls
3. enlarging the existing office
4. replacing existing electrical lines
5. panels and fixtures
6. improving existing waterlines sewer and drainage systems
7. new flooring and finishes
8. new windows,
9. relocate toilets
10. exterior repairs to the roof and facade.

B. LANI’s CRIB
This project covers construction of a two-storey house having three
bedrooms, three toilet and baths, caretaker room, a powder room,
sauna, living, dining and kitchen areas. This house is design to create
more private and peaceful home.
II. PROCEDURE

1. MOBILIZATION

Our team will mobilize all the required project team personnel,
equipment, tools and manpower with the required skills and in sufficient
number as may be necessary for the efficient undertaking of the
project.

2. SITE PREPARATION

 Site Assessment - The first step is to assess the site thoroughly. This
includes evaluating the existing structures or vegetation, and
potential environmental impacts. Understanding these factors is
essential for making informed decisions throughout the construction
process.
 Prioritize safety throughout the site preparation process. Ensure that
workers have the necessary training and personal protective
equipment (PPE). Regular safety audits and risk assessments should
be conducted
 Quality Control - Establish strict quality control measures to monitor
the progress and quality of site preparation work. Regular
inspections will be conducted to help identify and rectify issues
before they become major problems.

 Procurement - We have identified the major work packages in our


method statement and upon award of contract are ready to
mobilize. Upon award of contract a Procurement Program and Early
Warning Schedule will be established and used to co-ordinate and
control the procurement of all major elements.
3. MATERIAL HANDLING AND DISTRIBUTION

 Material deliveries will be checked at the entrance of the site by the


materials controller and directed to the allocated storage area
where they will be unloaded. The storage areas will be controlled by
a materials controller who will ensure that the materials are
identified, labeled, stacked and stored in the correct manner and to
the manufacturer’s recommendation.

 Storage generally will be provided in temporary site stores, open


storage areas or within the project site in designated areas.
Materials will be stored and protected in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.

4. CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY

A. Demolition and Hauling

Precautionary signs/warning notices will be posted and maintained


to control access in the area during demolishing process.
Demolition works will be carried out by using chipping gun and
other associated tools/equipment.
Broken materials or debris resulting in demolition to be cleared and
removed by using bucket or sack before carrying out the next
step of demolition.
The area covered with the board up is the only area need to be
demolished.
Area to be demolished to be isolated and accessibility should be
restricted.
Construction manager and site engineers shall be responsible for
supervision and control of the work in the assessment of the risk
involved and in the method demolition to be used.
A separate request for inspection and information to be raised
depicting the interference of the existing services.
Removing rubbish, debris, and surplus material regularly and keep
the site clean and tidy.
Hauling and clearing activities will be carried out safely and
responsibly, taking care to dispose of materials properly.

B. Structural Works

1. Formworks

Traditional phenolic formworks will be installed for specific


structure. Assembly will take place within the working area. All
significant repairs to formwork and cleaning, other than those that
may be accomplished at the workplace shall be carried out in the
workshop areas. Typical materials and equipment employed will be
used.

2. Rebar Works

Within the yard the steel will be cut and bent into required lengths
and shapes. The reinforcement cages will be fabricated in the areas
as designated and will then be placed in the required areas.

Rebar installation - Installation of rebar to be done as per approved


drawings and bar bending schedule. Checking of the ff during
installation will be conducted by technical personnel of the
contractor.
1. Diameterr, numbers and spacing of rebars.
2. Dowel bars for other structures to be provided.
3. Application of concrete epoxy when attached to other
structure.
4. Dowel bars for other structures (if any) will be provided.
5. Top level of rebar must be correct as per layout of pouring
elevation.

3. Concrete Works

The entire area will be inspected before concreting. It will be ensured


that the surface of reinforcement will be free from mud, oil,
retarders, grease or any other substance which would affect
adversely the steel or concrete chemically or reduce the bond. Also it
will be ensured that it is placed in full accordance to the issued for
construction drawings.
Placing of Concrete:
 The concrete will be deposited continuously or in layers of such
thickness so that cold joints are not formed. The concrete, which
has partially hardened, will not be deposited. Suitable
construction joints will be provided to avoid formation of cold
joints.
 After placing, the concrete will be consolidated by using
mechanical or electrical vibrators, which will be operated by
competent workmen. Use of vibrators to transport concrete within
the formworks will not be allowed.

C. Architectural Works

1. Masonry and Plastering Works Concrete Works

All masonry walls shall start after all forms and shoring at the
ground floor has been cleared. Concrete hollow blocks to be used
shall conform to the specifications. Mortar for setting blocks shall
be in the proportion specified in the plans and specifications. All
masonry shall be laid plumb and true to line and built to the
thickness and bond required with the courses level and bond
uniform. Vertical and horizontal reinforcements shall be of standard
sizes and laid on required spacing. Sealants and compressible filler
below slab/beam soffit & concrete walls/columns will be placed.
Materials for plastering shall conform to the standard mix
proportions by volume. Base coat will be applied first prior to the
finish coat as required by the thickness.

2. Ceiling Works

The installation of Hanger, Runner, Wall molding and accessories


including distances and sizes shall be in accordance with Standards
and manufactures recommendations. For wall angle
installation,ceiling level shall be marked on one wall and the same
level shall be transferred to other 3 walls using a water level or a
laser and snap a connecting chalk line to mark the finish level of the
ceiling. The wall angle shall be attached securely to the wall using
blind rivets or 1” concrete nail and the joints between inside and
outside of moldings shall be kept tight. Hangers shall be installed
above the main runners typically every 1200mm interval in each
direction. Each suspension hanger shall not hang more than 1 in 6
out of plumb unless a counter sloping wire or horizontal bracing is
provided. The height of the rod shall be adjusted with the help of
guide string, so that the main runner is held at the correct height.
Lighting & other fixtures shall be supported by grid itself. Extra
hangers shall be provided to support lighting and fixtures depending
on size & weight.Perform leveling of main TEE with supporting
hanger taut to prevent any subsequent downward movement of the
main runners. discolored unit surfaces shall be cleaned after
installation. Scratches, abrasions, voids, and other defects in painted
surfaces shall be touched-up. Damaged or improperly installed units
shall be removed and replaced.

3. Metal Works

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Identify REFERENCE POINT / GRIDLINE ELEVATION. All Steel


members are in Epoxy Primer Paint Finish

a. INSTALLATION OF STEEL MEMBERS

1. Before installation, fabrication is required to cut all Steel


members according to the required dimension.
2. After fabrication, all members are to be installed and
connected to pedestal reinforcement by welding
connection. Steel members will be lifted manually or by
chain block.
3. Tack welding is necessary to pre-position the members
by using 6013 Welding Rod.
4. Once all members are pre-positioned, another quality
control check is required to verify and double check all
dimensions and location of members.
5. Once all dimension and locations are verified and
correct, full welding of steel members should follow.

b. Full Welding

1. During full welding, 60XX welding rod will be used as root


passing (if necessary) and should be followed by 70XX
welding rod to complete the weld.
2. If necessary, Dye penetrant test can be performed as part
of quality control check. 10% of all welding joints or 20
feet of welding length will be considered as test
specimen. Maximum of 1 visit of third-party testing group
is included in our proposal. Any excess should be
organized by the general contractor or client.

4. Painting Works

a. The specific methods to be used for the painting activity will be


per specification and technical or suppliers recommendation
b. Before painting work commences, paint system has to be
approved by the consultant.
c. Paint materials delivered to site have to be checked against the
material approved.
d. Trial area painting will be carried out and approved by the
consultant.
e. Before commencement, application surfaces will be dry and
prepared for the paint as per manufacturer’s recommendations
f. Adequate protection will be arranged to avoid damage from paint
spillage.
g. Appropriate clean brushes, rollers or sprayers as required will be
available.

5. Roofing Works

Insulation
a. New insulation will be installed (10mm Double Sided Foil Insulation).

b. For Office and Canteen insulation will be installed below the framings
(c-purlins) to avoid the removal of the existing roof panels.
c. Then it will be holded by metal framings

Roofing Panel
Materials for the roof will be carefully lifted to the roof area. Position the panels
accurately on supporting frame or structure. Adjust accordingly to final
position with proper bearing before fix or fastener. After alignment is done
secure the panel using the fastener with electric drill machine with care.
Install the next roof panels in the same procedure as above, ensure the
correct orientation of each panels, anticipate the requirement for the
lapping, end trim, joint filler and sealant. Install all accessories in
accordance with vendor catalog, drawings and specification.

6. Glass, Doors, Windows Framing and Hardware


Aluminum framings will be fabricated on site. Prior to delivery on site
all door and frame shall have proper mark or tag for identification.
Door frame shall be first to install on the provided wall openings.
Plumpness shall be checked prior to mortar pouring. Door panel shall
follow, maintaining its alignment, standard tolerances and gaps. After
which is followed by the installation of door hardware.

D. Material Testing

Prior to installation or placing of construction materials such as steel


reinforcements, concrete, and others, our CQC/materials engineer shall
see to it that samples are taken in random from the delivered items
and will be subjected for material testing. Before any testing will
commence, the Construction Manager or his authorized representative
will be notified.

E. Demobilization

A group of workforces shall be formed to facilitate the cleaning of the


site prior to turnover. This group shall be responsible in making all the
necessary cleaning and moving-out activities
