ABSTRACT
During my four months’ industrial attachment at Tops Electrical & Multi Enterprises, I
focused and learnt on Introduction to the Computer System, Classification of computer,
Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and installation of software. It
brings about socialization and academically opens a room for student’s theoretical and
practical study. In conclusion I had a great opportunity to practically execute what I
learnt in class previously.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is the accepted and standardized
skills training program which forms an integral part of the requirements for the award of
degree in Nigeria tertiary Institutions. The scheme was established out of the desire to
bridge the gap between the theoretical principles being taught in school and the actual
practice of these principles. SIWES is done by undergraduates of academic program such
as Engineering and technology, education, agriculture, science, medical sciences,
management etc. it is designed to expose students to machine and equipment,
professional work methods and ways of safeguarding the work areas and workers in
industries and other organizations.
SIWES involves the students, the institution (university) and the industry (the employer
of labor). The duration for the scheme is 18 weeks. It is funded by the Federal
Government of Nigeria and jointly coordinated by industrial training fund (ITF)
supervising agency, and National University Commission (NUC).

CHAPTER THREE
3.0 SUMMARY
During the period of my attachment I was able to note some points and things that will
assist subsequent students who would be involved in the scheme in the future. The
following are the points to note;
i. I observed improvement on myself because through practical’s I understood more.
ii. Industrial attachment is the point where the theory taught in the classroom appears
clearly, real and understanding.
iii. I took part in real work experience which is quite interesting and I observed how work is
handled in IT companies.
3.1 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, my four (4) months industrial training at Tops Electrical & Multi
Enterprises, was a huge success and a great time of acquisition of knowledge and skills.
Through my training I was able to appreciate my chosen course of study even more.
Because I had the opportunity to blend the theoretical knowledge acquired from school
with the practical hands on application of knowledge gained here to perform very
important tasks that contributed in a way to my productivity in the organization.
3.2 RECOMMENDATION
During my four (4) months of student industrial training at Tops Electrical & Multi
Enterprises, I gained experienced and I got exposed to the practical aspect of computer
science as a course and networking, and components of the computer hardware so I
recommend full action and attention on student’s practical exposure for the world is
aggressively developing technologically where students without practical knowledge find
it hard to fit in.
