LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to write at least 4 classroom objects
correctly.

C At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to listen and follow at least 4 instructions
with support.
1. Choose a key topic word from the lesson. (e.g. rubber)
2. Play Snowman (variation of Hangman) with the pupils.
I. PRE-LESSON
3. Refer to https://www.wikihow.com/Play-Hangman for steps.
4. Repeat with other key topic words.
1. Explain to your students what an ‘imperative’ is. Also known as a
command or a plea, it gives someone instructions about what they
should do – Stand up. Sit down.
2. Give them a few examples by showing flashcards.
3. Play the recording. Pupils listen and repeat in chorus. (Track 20)
4. Play the recording again. Pupils mime the action for each one.
5. Vary the instructions for pupils to mime the actions, e.g. Pass me a
notebook, please.
II. LESSON
6. Demonstrate the activity with a small group of pupils.
DEVELOPMENT
7. Distribute a board game, a dice and tokens to each group.
8. Pupils take turns to roll the dice and move their tokens along the board.
9. If the player lands on an instruction, they must read the instruction.
10. The rest of the players listen carefully and mime the action.
11. If the player lands on a picture, the player names the object.
12. If the player lands on a red spot, the player loses a turn.
13. The first to finish wins.
14. Monitor and help when and as necessary.
1. Distribute worksheets.

2. Say the instructions.
III. POST LESSON
3. Repeat twice.
4. Pupils listen and write the words.
5. Then, pupils rewrite the instructions and draw the pictures.
