Session 2024-25
Contents:
1. Aim
2. Objectives
3. Important findings
4. Conclusion
Aim: Understand the Professional RCC Drawing.

Objective:

1. Provide detailed information for construction.

2. Ensure accurate reinforcement placement.

3. Specify concrete mix design and strength.

4. Illustrate structural member sizes and shapes.

Important Findings :

General Notes:

1. General notes provide important information about the drawing, such as

dimensions, materials, and construction methods1. They are meant to be read in
conjunction with the rest of the drawing.

2. Adhere to the guidelines and specifications outlined in the notes1. These may
include dimensions, material specifications reinforcement details, and other
construction- related instructions.

Foundation Details:

1. Look for footing Each ID corresponds to different parts of the

foundation.

2. Note the dimensions for excavation (LxBxH) and footing size

(L x B).

3. Check the thickness of each footing and the type of concrete

used (e.g., M25).

4. Find details on reinforcement bars for each footing.

Foundation Layout:
1. Foundation Elements: Footings, columns, and pedestals will be marked with
specific labels (e.g., F1, C1, PB).
2. Dimensions: Dimensions provide the size and spacing of the foundation elements
(e.g., 3100, 1420).

Column Layout:

1. Column Labels: Each column is marked these labels help identify

columns in different parts of the structure.

2. Dimensions: Dimensions between columns these are critical for proper

placement.

First Floor Framing Plan :

1. Beam Labels and Dimensions: Identify beam labels like B11, B12, and son,
with their dimensions (e.g., 200x350, 200x400).

2. Column Layout: Look for labeled columns and their placements according to
the grid.

3. Section Views and Details: Check any cross sections or detailed views
provided. They give a clearer picture of how the framing elements interact.

4. Dimensions and Spacing: Observe the dimensions between different

structural elements, ensuring correct placement and spacing.

First Floor Beam Details :

1. Dimensions: Dimensions are given in millimeters

2. Reinforcement Details: Look for information about the size and number of
reinforcement bars placement details.

3. Stirrups: Details about stirrups, like their size and spacing, are crucial for
understanding the internal reinforcement.

First Floor Slab Layout Details :

1. Slab Labels and Reinforcement: Slabs are usually labeled (e.g., S1, S2, S3).
Refer to the reinforcement details table, which lists the thickness and
reinforcement for each slab:

• S1: 150 mm thick, 10 mm diameter bars at 150 mm c/c.

• S2: 150 mm thick, different reinforcement details for bottom.

• S3: 150 mm thick, 8 mm diameter bars.

2. Section Views: Check section views for a cross section look at the slab,
showing how reinforcement bars are placed.

Conclusion :

The proposed RCC design for the building's foundation and structural frame meets
the required loads and safety standards, ensuring a stable and durable structure and
material usage is optimized for cost-effectiveness.

• Ensure that all structural elements align correctly with the grid.
• Verify that all measurements are accurate and consistent.
• Ensure that the reinforcement for footings, beams, columns, and slabs meets
design specifications.
• Adjustments or improvements.
