SSC CHSL Exam Pattern:

1. Tier 1 (Online Exam) – 200 Questions (1 mark each)

o General Intelligence (Reasoning) – 50 Questions

o General Awareness – 50 Questions

o Quantitative Aptitude – 50 Questions

o English Language – 50 Questions

2. Tier 2 (Descriptive Paper) – Essay and Letter Writing

o 100 Marks

3. Tier 3 (Skill Test / Typing Test) – Based on the post applied for

Time Duration:

• Tier 1: 60 minutes

• Tier 2: 1 hour

• Tier 3: Varies by post

Study Plan (3-Month Strategy)

Week 1-4: Foundation & Basic Concepts

1. Day 1-7: Focus on General Intelligence and Reasoning

o Practice puzzles, series, blood relations, seating arrangements, syllogisms, and coding-decoding.

o Take daily mock tests to improve speed.

2. Day 8-14: Focus on Quantitative Aptitude

o Cover topics like Number System, Simplification, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and
Probability.

o Practice 30-40 problems daily.

3. Day 15-21: Focus on English Language

o Improve vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases.

o Focus on grammar (tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, etc.) and comprehension.

o Read one English newspaper daily and solve one mock test.

4. Day 22-28: Focus on General Awareness

o Study History, Geography, Polity, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and Current Affairs.

o Make use of daily current affairs resources.

o Revise the previous day’s current affairs every week.

Week 5-8: Intensive Practice & Strengthening Weak Areas

1. Day 29-35: Practice Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude regularly.

o Focus on time management, attempt 20-30 full-length mock tests.

o Analyze each test to identify weak areas.

2. Day 36-42: Focus on English Language and General Awareness

o Solve reading comprehension, cloze test, fill-in-the-blanks, and error detection problems.

o Revise current affairs from the last 2 months.

3. Day 43-49: Continue practicing reasoning and quant, but also devote time to Tier 2 (Descriptive Paper)
Preparation.

o Practice writing essays and formal/informal letters.

o Focus on topics like social issues, current affairs, etc.

Week 9-12: Mock Tests & Revision

1. Day 50-56: Full-length mock tests, analyze weak sections.

o Take at least 3 full-length mock tests a week.

o Focus on speed and accuracy.

2. Day 57-63: Tier 1 Revision

o Revise key formulas, shortcuts for Quant, and English grammar rules.

o Go through reasoning puzzles.

3. Day 64-70: Tier 2 Focus

o Final revision of essays and letter writing.

o Focus on improving writing speed.

4. Day 71-84: Final Intensive Revision

o Go over all sections once more.

o Focus on practicing weak areas.

o Revise key current affairs, formulas, and practice mock tests.

Daily Study Time Allocation (8-10 hours)

• Morning (2-3 hours): Start with the most difficult topic (Quantitative Aptitude or General Awareness).

• Afternoon (2-3 hours): Focus on Reasoning and English.

• Evening (2-3 hours): Solve mock tests and previous year papers.

• Mock Tests: Attempt at least 2 full mock tests per week to assess your performance and improve time

Tier 2 Preparation

• Essay Writing: Write 1-2 essays on current topics each week. Focus on structure (Introduction, Body,
Conclusion) and clarity of ideas.

• Letter Writing: Practice writing letters (formal/informal) and revise formats.

Final Week Before Exam

• Revise all topics in short bursts (1-2 hours each topic).

• Focus on weak sections.

• Do not take new topics; focus solely on revision and practicing mock tests.
