DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PROGRAMS


COORDINATOR

A Program Coordinator will be in Charge of Co-curricular


activities, Non-Teaching Staff, Kitchen Staff, Security, and
Transport at La Salle School Homa Bay. The primary
responsibility is to oversee and coordinate these essential support
functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the
school. Below are the detailed duties and responsibilities:

1. Co-Curricular Activities

● Plan, organize, and coordinate co-curricular activities


such as sports, music, drama, debates, and clubs to
enhance students' holistic development.
● Develop an annual co-curricular calendar and ensure
activities align with the school’s educational goals.
Liaise with the external coaches where applicable
when developing the annual activity calendar.
● Supervise staff involved in co-curricular programs to
ensure quality execution.
● Monitor student participation, encourage inclusivity,
and provide support to ensure meaningful
engagement.
● Organize inter-school competitions and represent the
school at external events.
● Maintain inventory of equipment and materials
required for co-curricular activities.

2. Supervision of Non-Teaching Staff

● Manage and oversee the performance of all


non-teaching staff, ensuring efficiency in their duties.
● Develop schedules and assign tasks to ensure
smooth operations in areas like maintenance,
cleaning, and administrative support.
● Conduct regular performance evaluations and
provide training or feedback as necessary.
● Address concerns or grievances raised by
non-teaching staff professionally.

3. Kitchen Staff

● Oversee kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation


and distribution of meals for students and staff.
● Monitor hygiene standards in the kitchen, storage
areas, and dining facilities to meet health regulations.
● Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance
with safety and cleanliness protocols.

4. Security Personnel

● Supervise security personnel to maintain a safe and


secure environment for students, staff, and school
property.
● Develop and enforce security protocols, including
visitor management and perimeter checks.
● Conduct routine inspections of school premises to
identify and address security vulnerabilities.
● Provide security training and briefings for staff to
handle emergencies like fire or intrusions.
● Investigate and document security incidents and
implement preventive measures.

5. Transport Services

● Oversee the scheduling and operations of school


transport services, ensuring punctuality and safety.
● Supervise drivers and transport assistants, ensuring
adherence to professional and safety standards.
● Coordinate regular vehicle maintenance and
inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
● Address any transport-related issues, including route
optimization and addressing parent concerns.
● Manage transport logistics for school trips, events,
and excursions.
● Maintain accurate records of transport operations,
including fuel usage, service logs, and driver rosters.
● Manage vehicle work tickets.
● Ensure all drivers have the valid driving license
● Ensure minders are in the vans in all evening drop
offs.

Teach Music and any other learning areas assigned

NB:
Ø In case of an emergency situation, you may be
asked to assist in other areas temporarily as the
administration works on the problem at hand.

Ø During major occasions and school functions,


flexibility is important and you are expected to
play different roles that can be assigned to you
by your Section head during such moments.

Ø Assignment and duties are guidelines to create


peace and harmony in any working environment,
however this does not bar you from assisting in
other areas should any need arise. Always keep
in mind principles of a catholic school and
twelve virtues of a Lasallian educator.

When on duty:

● Supervise all the children


● Supervise children who are picked and those who
are dropped by the school transport in the evening
● Welcome pupils when they arrive in the morning
● Taste the meals before children starts eating

NB:
Ø In case of an emergency situation, you may be
asked to assist in other areas temporarily as the
administration works on the problem at hand.

Ø During major occasions and school functions,
