CHAPTER 4

Results and Discussion

Chapter 4 presents the results of this investigation. The data needed

for this descriptive quantitative study was gathered using several data

gathering instruments such as the Strategic Management Practices for Retail

store in Roxas City to analyze the data, the following test statistics were

employed: frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation,

relationship or pearsons’ r.

Below is the presentation and interpretation of the descriptive and

inferential data.

Descriptive Data Analysis

Table 1 reflects the Socio demographic profile of the respondents in

term of sex, age, educational background, income, estimated income.

Results revealed that in most of the respondents are female with 60 percent

females account for the majority (60%) of the population, suggesting greater

participation or involvement of women in this context, and male with 40

percent males make up 40% of the population, indicating a minority but still

significant representation in the group. In the age bracket of the respondents

for 36 years old and above with 70 percent the majority (70%) of individuals

are in the 36 years and older category, highlighting a predominantly mature

population with likely extensive life and work experience, 31-35 years old

with 13.3 percent Another 13.3% are in the 31-35 age group, suggesting
moderate representation of mid-career individuals or those with established

professional or personal roles, 20-25 years old with 13.3 percent a small

percentage (13.3%) of the population falls into the younger age group, likely

representing individuals at the early stages of their careers or education, 26-

30 years old with 3.3 percent the smallest group (3.3%) is in the 26-30 age

range, indicating limited representation of individuals in this transitional age

bracket, possibly due to specific life circumstances or opportunities available

to them. On the other hand for Postgraduate Degree with 6.7 percent a

small percentage (6.7%) has attained a postgraduate degree, representing

individuals who pursued specialized or advanced studies beyond college,

High School Graduate with 36.7 percent over one-third (36.7%) of the

population has completed high school as their highest level of education.

This indicates a significant portion that may have limited access to higher

education or opted for alternative career paths after high school, College

Graduate with 56.7 percent the majority (56.7%) are college graduates,

showing that a significant portion of the population has attained higher

education, potentially equipping them with advanced skills and

qualifications. Also in Income of the respondents for Weekly Income with 20

percent a smaller group (20%) earns income on a weekly basis, likely

representing individuals in regular but not long-term employment

arrangements, such as part-time workers or service industry employees,

Monthly Income with 36.7 percent a significant portion (36.7%) receives

monthly income, indicative of individuals in salaried or stable positions,


reflecting a more structured and predictable financial situation, Daily Income

with 43.3 percent the largest group (43.3%) receives income daily, which is

common among individuals in casual labor, freelance work, or jobs in the

informal sector. This suggests a significant portion of the population relies on

short-term earnings. Lastly in estimated income for ₱5,001 - ₱10,000 with 20

percent a smaller proportion (20%) earns between ₱5,001 and ₱10,000,

indicating slightly higher but still modest income levels, possibly from more

stable or skilled employment, ₱10,001 and above with 23.3 percent nearly a

quarter (23.3%) of the population earns above ₱10,001, representing

individuals with relatively higher income, likely from professional or

specialized roles, ₱1,000 - ₱3,000 with 26.7 percent Just over a quarter

(26.7%) of the population earns between ₱1,000 and ₱3,000. This group may

represent individuals with limited income, possibly in part-time or lower-

paying jobs, ₱3,001 - ₱5,000 with 30 percent the largest group (30%) falls in

the ₱3,001 to ₱5,000 range, suggesting a moderate income level, potentially

representing those in entry-level jobs or informal employment.

Table 3 illustrates the relationship results on the factors that hinders a

retail stores and effective strategic and practices to increase sales in retail

stores.

The results revealed that there is a very weak positive linear

relationship between the two variables being analyzed. The factors that

hinders a retail stores and effective strategic and practices to increase sales

in retail stores with P-value 0.182. Results indicate that there is a very weak

positive linear relationship between the two variables being analyzed.
