General description of the company, system and problem.
Nexafusion Solutions is a vibrant consultancy located in the tech-savvy heart of things. We

specialise in cutting-edge database and intranet development. We have a strong emphasis on

getting the best value from new technologies in Microsoft data storage internet-based

business solutions. And we are still happy to be able to provide our clients with the most

appropriate solution possible for their particular circumstances. We are presently

concentrating on improving worker wage control in a seamless, efficient manner.

Challenge Overview:

We are trying to build a level monitoring system and make it more intelligent. We are trying

to develop an intranet application that takes the place of MS Excel. This can get right down to

account data, regardless of geographic location. It also means tracking wages remotely – and

providing in-depth reports to management too. Actually we are currently in the process of

recasting it as a robust reporting system so that the user can call up personnel salaries and

consultant rates himself; using an intranet application for efficient data entry.

2. Job request form:

Fullname: John doe

Job title : Employee wages tracking application

Department: Management Information systems.

[ X ] Job losses can be tolerated until the new system is installed.

Problem statement: As the staff count grows, the company faces challenges in efficiently

managing and promptly reporting employee wages. Therefore, there is a desire to create and

application for tracking employee wages to address this issue

Development request: upon evaluating the existing method of tracking employee wages

within the company, develop a new employee wage tracking application (EWTA) designed to

efficiently manage the company’s process of monitoring salaries.

4. Application System Components

The upcoming system is designed to operate within the specified computer network

environment.

Hardware: Acer Proliant Server, equipped with 64 GB RAM, a 2 TB HD, and an HP LaserJet

printer.

Software: The server will host SQL Server 2023 and IIS 11.0, while clients will use Visual

Studio 2023 Community for development, reporting, and publishing, complemented by

Office 2022.

Data Entities: The system will manage information related to Employees, Wages,

Departments, Users, and Categories.

Personnel: The project will involve a System Analyst/Programmer and a Database Designer,

with an additional contracted consultant responsible for documentation.

5. Feasibility Studies

5.1. Institutional and Cultural Feasibility

In considering the institutional and cultural feasibility, compatibility of the organisational

structure, resource availability, management support, involvement of employees, change
management, training and development to enhance skills and team collaboration, these are
the essential aspects. By addressing these institutional and cultural factors, can enhance
success on fostering a positive impact on both the organisation and its employees.

5.2. Technological Resource Feasibility

It involves assessing the adequacy and compatibility of the proposed hardware, software, and
personnel for the successful development and implementation of the system. Hardware’s
infrastructure and capacity and scalability; software’s development and compatibility; data
entities’ management; personnels’ skill set; project development, testing, implementation and
maintenance.

5.3. Legal Feasibility

Ensures compliance with laws and regulations related to data privacy, employment, and any
other legal considerations. The legal aspects to be considered are: data privacy and security,
employment and labour rights, accessibility and on-discrimination, contracts and agreements
and record keeping.

5.4. Financial Feasibility

Financial feasibility involves the project being economically viable and can generate returns
that justify the investment. By conducting a thorough financial feasibility analysis,
Nexafusion Solutions can evaluate the economic viability of the Employee Wage Tracking
Application project, make informed investment decisions, and ensure a sustainable financial
model for the success of the project through investments, operating costs, revenue generation,
return on investment (RIO) and funding sources.

Conclusion and recommendations:

The evaluation of technical risk in a project hinges on four key factors: project size,

project structure, the development team's proficiency with the application and technology,

and the user's familiarity with the application and technology. Examining these aspects

through a technical risk assessment matrix reveals that our project is characterised as small,

with high user familiarity and a well-defined structure (predefined categories such as

employees, wages, and project tasks).

Consequently, the project falls into the "Very Low Risk" category, indicating a

favourable risk profile. From an operational standpoint, implementing this project opens

avenues for the company to effectively monitor staff salaries online and enhance overall

management control.

Given the evident benefits and convenience, undertaking this project is deemed

advantageous. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to initiate the project promptly by

allocating the requisite resources.

8. Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)

Assumptions:

- Employee and Wages Relationship: It is presumed that each employee has the
capacity to possess multiple wage records encompassing Salary, Bonuses,
OvertimePay, and EmployeeDeduction.

- Employee and Departments Relationship: Every department is capable of

having multiple employees.

- Employee and Users Relationship: Each employee is linked to a singular user

account.

- Employee and Categories Relationship: The assumption is that each

employee has the potential to be associated with multiple categories.

- Primary Keys (PK): This indicates that the primary keys play the role of unique
markers for each entry in the tables, ensuring distinct identification.

- Foreign Keys (FK): The foreign keys create links between records in one table
and those in another, simplifying the establishment of relationships between
different entities.

- Attribute Interpretation: This suggests that attributes such as Fullname,

JobTitle, Salary, etc., hold specific details associated with the respective
entities they represent.
