A Story of a Number line

Once upon a time in the village of Alicia, a curious young
girl named Ana discovered a magical paper in their nipa hut.
This paper wasn't just any ordinary piece of paper; it contained
the secrets of the number line. As Ana read the magical paper,
she found a story about a straight path that stretched infinitely
in both directions, marked with numbers at equal intervals. The
numbers told tales of their adventures, with each integer having
a unique story. For example, Zero was a friendly character who
stood in the middle, always balancing the positives and
negatives. As Ana traced the number line with her finger, she
could hear Zero talking about his special place between the
negatives and positives, bringing balance and harmony to the
number world.

What did Ana find in the nipa hut? (Magical paper)

How is Zero being describe in the story?

1. Divide the class into 2 groups.

2. Provide them with the materials: paper tape & blank number
line.
3. Hide strips of paper with integers around the classroom.
4. Instruct each group do the following: (10 minutes)
➢ Find the hidden strips with integers around the
classroom.
➢ Arrange the numbers from the lowest to the highest.
➢ Paste the numbers in the blank number line.
5. Group presentation

➢ How did you find the activity?Answers vary

➢ How did you arrange the numbers in the line? lowest to

➢ What is a number line?

A number line is a straight line with numbers placed at

equal intervals or segments along its length. It can be
extended infinitely in any direction and is usually
represented horizontally.

Ask: What do you think is our lesson today? number line

Topic: Integers (Have students read their learning goals
for today’s lesson.)
• Identify the integer in the number line.
• Locate integers on the number line
• Answer the activities and assessment honestly and
competently.
UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES. Let us learn the meanings of
these words.
Intervals- The set of all real numbers between two given
numbers.
Infinite- Describes a set which is not finite.
Segment- All points between two given points
Horizontal- Perfectly flat and level

C. Developing and Deepening Reminders:

Understanding ➢ Do not bully your classmate and everyone inside the
classroom. (Anti-Bullying Act (RA 10627)
➢ Be careful with your actions, make sure you will not hit
and hurt anybody in the class.
➢ Show respect to everyone inside the classroom.

Activity 3
Directions: Determine the integer corresponds to each letter on
the number line below.

A B C D E

On a number line, positive numbers are to the right of zero.

Negative numbers are to the left of zero. Zero is neither positive nor
negative (origin).

Activity 4. LOCATE ME!
