Q1. Assume that six devices are arranged in a mesh topology. How many cables are needed and how
many ports are needed for each device. All the mathematical calculations must be shown along with the
formulas used. [1 mark]

Q2. Identify the type of switching network used in Figure. 1 and briefly explain the situation when this
switching network operates at its full efficiency. What possible changes need to be made to this
network to turn it into an another type of switching network? Draw the new diagram. [2 marks]

Q3. How many point-to-point WANs are needed to connect n LANs if each LAN should be able to
directly communicate with any other LAN? [2 marks]
