Representing Sentence Structure:

and phrase structure rules

I. Provide the information requested in (i-vii) in relation to the abstract tree diagram
provided:

i) List all the sisters of NP2.


ii) List all the daughters of S'.
iii) List all the categories of which S is the mother.
iv) List all the categories of which S dominates.
v) List all the categories of which S' immediately dominates.
vi) List all the categories that are dominated by VP.
vii) List all the categories that are immediately dominated by NP 1.
