INTRODUCTION
Project Integration Management involves the processes and activities to
identify, define, combined, unity and coordinate the various activities of a
project. Project Integration Management includes making choices about
resource allocation and managing the interdependencies among the project
management knowledge Areas.

Project Integration Management, however, is the process of bringing all the different processes
involved in project management together into a cohesive whole. This involves developing the
project management plan, which is the document that outlines how the project will be executed,
monitored and controlled. It also includes managing the project schedule, which is the timeline for
completing the project tasks.
Additionally, project integration management involves managing project cost, which is the process
to estimating, budgeting and controlling the projects financial resources. It also includes managing
project risks, which is the process of identifying, assessing and responding to potential project risks.
Finally, it also involves managing project communications, which is the process of planning,
developing, executing, monitoring and controlling the communication activities of the project.
PROCESSES OF PROJECT INTEGRATION
MANAGEMENT
In order to coordinate all aspects of a project, project integration management needs to create and manage the project charter and
project management plan. The project integration management process is as follows:
• Develop the project charter: The process of developing a document that formally authorizes the existence of a project and
provides the project manager with the authority to apply organizational resources to project activities.
• Develop the project management plan: This process involves defining, preparing and coordinating all subsidiary plans and
integrating them into a comprehensive project management plan. This document outlines how the project will be executed,
monitored and controlled.
• Direct and manage project execution: The process of leading and performing the work defined in the project management plan
and implementing approved changes to achieve the project’s objectives.
• Monitor and control project work: This is the process of tracking, reviewing and reporting project process against the
performance objectives defined in the project management plan.
• Perform integrated chance control: The process of viewing all change request; approving changes and managing changes to
deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents and the project management plan and communicating their
disposition. This process involves managing all changes to the project, including scope changes, schedule changes and cost
changes.
• Ensure project quality: This process involves verifying and validating that the project deliverables meet the project requirements.
• Close project or phase: This process involves formally completing all project activities and handing over the project deliverable to
the customer.
• Identifying stakeholders: This process involves identifying all the people and organizations who are affected by the project or
who have an interest in its success. The processes of project integration management are interconnected and iterative. For
