HARYANA JUDICIARY SYLLABUS 2024

INTRODUCTION:

The Haryana Judiciary examination is a prestigious and highly competitive


examination conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Civil
Judge (Junior Division) in the state judiciary. This examination plays a
crucial role in shaping the future of aspiring lawyers who wish to serve as
judicial officers in Haryana. In this article, we will delve into the syllabus,

STAGES OF THE EXAMINATION

1. Preliminary Examination

 Qualifying nature

 Objective type

 Total Questions =125

 4 marks for each correct answer

 1/5 negative marking for incorrect answer

 Minimum qualifying marks=150

 Duration of examination=2 hours

2. Main Examination

 Subjective type

 Total 5 papers

 3 Law papers and 2 Language papers

 Total marks for all papers= 900

 Medium of exam= English except Hindi language paper

 Duration = 3 hours each

3. Interview

 Total marks= 100

 Conducted to check the overall personality and knowledge

2. Paper 2. (Civil Law II) 200 marks

 Hindu Law

 Muslim Law

 Law of registration

 Customary Law

 Limitation Act

3. Paper 3. (Criminal Law) 200 marks

 Indian Penal Code

 Criminal Procedure

 Indian Evidence Act

4. Paper 4. (English Language) 200 marks

 English Essay Writing (1000-1100 words)- 100 Marks

 Precise Writing- 25 Marks

 Comprehension- 25 Marks

 Correction- 25 Marks

 Words & Phrases- 25 Marks

5. Paper 5. (Hindi Language) 100 marks


 Translation of English Passage into Hindi- 20 Marks

 Prose writing of Hindi passage- 30 Marks

 Hindi essay, Idioms, & corrections -50 Marks

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

Same as the main examinations. Objective Questions shall be asked from


the Acts covered in the main Examination.
