9. A portion of a residential service to a home consists of ten 60W bulbs, a 400W washer and a 360W TV connected in
parallel. The service supply is 120V.
a) Sketch a circuit representation of the service. Assume the loads can be modeled as resistive loads.
b) Determine the current through each parallel branch of the network
c) Calculate the current drawn from the 120V source. Will a 20A breaker connected at the service supply point
trip?
d) What is the total resistance of the network?
e) Determine the power supplied by the 120V source. How does it compare to the total power of the loads?
