INSPIRATION
1. Discuss the problem - Talk about the challenges and practice empathy. Create a list of
challenges and needs below. Your goal here is to understand the people playing the
game, the constraints you are facing (challenges), and what you need to achieve your
goal. Ask each other questions, probe, LISTEN, and take notes.
● What are the obstacles? What are the potential pitfalls?
● What would make a game fun?
● What sorts of things must be included in the game or sport?
● What inspiration do you have from games you have played in the past?

IDEATION
2. Brainstorm possible solutions (sport/game ideas that work within the challenges and
meet your listed needs). Game ideas need to be unique in some way. If you use a
standard game like chess, you need to add to it or change it to make it unique.
Rules:
Defer Judgment One Conversation at a Time
Encourage Wild Ideas Be Visual (draw it out)
Build on the Ideas of Others Go for Quantity
Stay Focused on the Topic

4. Check that your solution idea addresses all of the considerations listed in Step 1
List of Challenges, Constraints, and What It Needs to Be How Your Idea Fits
Physical Distance Uses Snapchat
High Interest People like taking photos
IMPLEMENTATION

6. Test your game with real people. You may have time in class to test your game, but you
also need to test it outside of class. It helps to find people who are not part of your team
to help test your game. Each team member can run their own test and share the results,
or you can get together to test. Describe the experiences with the tests below. What
went well? What didn’t work?

Individual Project Reflection
When you are done, each individual team member should evaluate your creative
problem-solving process using these questions:
