This rubric helps students understand what is expected of them. It also makes
grading easier for the teacher. I've used and refined this rubric to teach my fourth Add to Cart
graders and to grade their writing. The rubric criteria begin with sentences such as
"Your writing..." or "Your sentences..." and avoids negative language as well as
jargon. Every aspect of writing is explained clearly so students know exactly what
they need to do in order to improve.
