Icam ANTI-PLAGIARISM CHARTER - Version of 17 June 2020
In addition to being reprehensible under the provisions of the Intellectual Property Code, business secrecy and confidentiality, plagiarism goes against
what Icam expects from its engineers.
Plagiarism consists in passing off as your own, intentionally or not, work that you did not create.
It is a form of fraud, and its practice may be punished by sanctions of varying degrees, depending on its recurrence and seriousness.
PLAGIARISM COVERS THE FOLLOWING PRACTICES
- copying and pasting a text, image, graph or data from any source (internet, paper, report, internal company documentation, etc.);
- the partial or total translation into French of a text in a foreign language; - paraphrasing (repetition of a text by changing words);
- summarising another person's idea by reformulating it
- paraphrasing (repeating a text by changing words); summarising someone else's idea by rephrasing it; taking over someone else's work with or without
their agreement;
- taking over some or all of your own work for separate assessments.
Anyone producing work as part of their activities at ICAM undertakes not to pass off as their own, intentionally or unintentionally, work that they have not
strictly originated. However, it is possible to rely on the work of others by committing to respect the following rules and good practices
- limit the reproduction of other people's work to short quotations, mentioning the sources;
- not to take over an idea from others;
- refer exhaustively to all the sources of their work (bibliography).
In order to verify compliance with this commitment, Icam reserves the right to regularly check the work submitted using tools such as the anti-plagiarism
software Compilatio.
In the event that plagiarism is detected, the following sanctions may be applied, at the discretion of the management team of each site.
