HOMEWORK

Instructions:
Upload your homework in the shared folder “Upload Homework 3”.

Exercise 1 :
A capacitance of 200 µF is connected in series with a resistor of 20 kΩ as shown is
the figure

1. Obtain the transfer function.

2. Plot the system’s response to a unitary step input. use the function csim(). (Follow
the instructions given during the simulation session).
HOMEWORK

Exercise 2 :

Compare the time response of a system with the transfer function shown
below, to a unit impulse and a unit step input. Where T is a constant (you
can adjust its value).
𝜃0 1
=
𝜃𝑖 𝑇𝑠 + 1
Exercise 3 :

A system has the transfer function shown below. Determine the time
response to a unit step input.
𝜃0 1
=
𝜃𝑖 (𝑠 + 1)(𝑠 + 2)
HOMEWORK

Exercise 4:
Find the time domain specifications of a control system having the closed
25
loop transfer function 𝑇 𝑠 = 𝑠2 +6𝑠+25 when the unit step signal is applied
as an input to this control system.

Exercise 5:
1
A system has a transfer function 𝐺 𝑠 = 𝑠(𝑇𝑠+1) where the time constant T is
0.5 seconds.
1. Manually plot the individual Bode diagrams for gain (follow the example
during the lesson and the slides of chapter 3).
2. Plot the Bode diagram for gain and phase angle using Scilab (follow the
instructions given during the simulation session).
HOMEWORK

Exercise 6:

Draw a Nyquist plot of the following transfer function using Scilab:

1
𝐺 𝑠 =
(𝑠 2 +0.8𝑠+1)
