Lab 02
Lab 02
Introduction
This laboratory exercise is meant to enable the students to verify Ohm’s of simple circuit and
correlate measured values with the theoretical calculations of voltages and currents through
various circuit elements.
Objectives
Lab Instructions
This lab activity comprises of three parts: Pre-lab, Lab Exercises, and Post-Lab Viva session.
The students should perform and demonstrate each lab task separately for step-wise evaluation
(please ensure that course instructor/lab engineer has signed each step after ascertaining its
functional verification)
Only those tasks that completed during the allocated lab time will be credited to the students.
Students are however encouraged to practice on their own in spare time for enhancing their
skills.
Lab Equipment
Ohm’s Law
Ohm’s law states that the current I in a resistor is proportional to the potential difference
V across it, provided that the temperature of the object is constant. In equation form, it says,
𝐼 = 𝑉/𝑅 (1)
For the above circuit, measure the desired parameters and tabulate your experimental results.
After you have completed the lab experiment please return all the equipment back to your lab
attendant.
Linear Circuit Analysis Lab Lab 2
Resistance (R)=……………
S.No
Voltage (V) Current (I)
1 2V
2 4V
3 6V
4 8V
5 10V
Now, voltage will remain constant at 10V and experiment is performed with 5 different values of
R.
Voltage (V)=…………….
S.No
Resistance Current (I)
(R) I=V/R

Linear Circuit Analysis Lab Lab 2
By keeping R constant and varying V, how do current vary?
