Amazing Race Modified
Format:
Rules:
1. Setup:
Participants line up in a single file. One person starts at the "racing station" holding the
umbrella.
2. Starting the Game:
At the signal, the first participant walks to a designated spot and then returns to the line,
encouraging the next participant to join them.
3. Team Building:
Each time a participant returns, they must "pick up" another participant until everyone is
holding the umbrella together, moving in unison.
4. Finishing Touch:
Once all participants have joined, they will sit down in a circle. When everyone is seated,
they open the umbrella together as a symbol of unity.
Teams will receive mixed-up Bible verses. They must correctly piece together a verse
related to the theme (e.g., Hebrews 13:8) before moving on.
a. Puzzle paper: Pre-cut scripture puzzles on cardstock or printed on a paper (e.g., the
chosen Bible verse broken into 8-10 pieces). Each team gets a different verse or different
mixed-up versions of the same verse.
c. Clue sheets: A clue that gives the correct verse reference (e.g., "Hebrews 13:8") to help
the teams understand what they are assembling.
One team member will act out a worship song without speaking, and the other must
guess the title correctly. This highlights creativity and familiarity with worship.
a. Worship song list: Prepare a list of popular worship songs written on slips of paper for
teams to act out (at least 15-20 songs).
b. Bowl or basket: To hold the slips with the worship song names.
c. Area for acting: Clear space for one participant to perform the charades.
Teams must work together to build a tower using limited materials (e.g., blocks or cups).
However, all of them are only allowed to use one hand, symbolizing how unity is key in building
up the community.
a. Building materials: Blocks, cups, or any stackable objects. Each team should receive
enough to build a small tower (around 15-20 items).
b. One-handed challenge markers: Something to restrict one participant’s use of one hand
(e.g., a ribbon or wrist strap to tie one hand).
c. Timer: To ensure they finish the tower within the set time.
