4:Analyze different tier in the network ( warehouse ,

packaging , product customization )


4.1 Vinamilk packaging:
4.1.1 Material selection
Vinamilk selects packaging materials that ensure product
safety , quality presevation and enviromental sustainability.
There are two different types of packaging are widely used by
Vinamilk are Tetra Pak and Combibloc
+ Combibloc is a product of SIG group from Germany. Products
that use Combibloc packaging is short and bigger than Tetra
Pak packaging. The size of Vinamilk’s 180ml milk carton is
height: 88cm , width: 37cm , length: 51cm and the straw is in
the middle of the milk carton
+ Tetra Pak: is a profuct of Tetra Pak company from
Switzerland. The products that use Tetra Pak packaging is tall
and smaller than Combibloc. The size of Vinamilk’s 180ml milk
carton is height: 121cm , width: 31,8cm,length: 47,5cm and the
straw is in the conner of the milk carton
Most of Vinamilk’s products are typically composed of six layers
of carton that work together to protect the milk at least 6
month without the need for preservative
4.1.2 Packaging design
Vinamilk's packaging designs are visually appealing,
informative and consistent with the brand's overall identity.
+ Prominent Branding: Vinamilk logo is the combination of two
shades of white and blue not only gives the milk brand a
distinctive look, but the symbols with meaningful messages
also make an impression on consumers.
+ Product information: Clear and concise product information
including ingredients, nutritional facts and shelf life is provided
to guide consumer choices.
4.2: Product customization
Vinamilk's tiered product customization strategy can be broadly
categorized into three levels:

1. Product category: Firstly, the company divides its vast


product portfolio into smaller segments based on specific
attributes This includes fresh milk with different fat
contents (whole, low-fat, skim), yogurt in various formats
like tubs, drinkable and for children or processed and fresh
cheese varieties. By meticulously categorizing products,
Vinamilk ensures it offers options that cater to the
individual nutritional needs and preferences of each
customer.
2. Product Features: Secondly, Vinamilk focuses on
diversifying product features within each segment. Taking
fresh milk as an example, Vinamilk provides products with
natural flavors or those fortified with additional nutrients
like calcium, vitamin… Beside that , for consumers with
lactose intolerance, Vinamilk provides lactose-free milk
variants has a low glyxemic index GI=27,6.

3 Price points: Vinamilk's tiered product customization


strategy also extends to price points. The company offers
products within each subcategory at different price levels
to accommodate the budget constraints of diverse
consumer segments.For example, Vinamilk's milk products
range in price from 7,000VND for a single pack to over
600,000VND for a carton.
4.3 Warehouse:
Vinamilk's warehouse system typically employs a three-tiered
structure:

 Fast-Moving Products (FMP): The top tier, FMP,


encompasses products with high demand and turnover
rates. These products are strategically positioned in easily
accessible locations within the warehouse, often near
loading bays or packing stations, to facilitate quick
retrieval and shipment. Core milk product like Vinamilk
100 , Vinamilk organic , Vinamilk Calcium would be
placed in this tier due to their high sales volume
 Medium-Moving Products (MMP): The middle tier,
MMP, includes products with moderate demand and
turnover rates. These products are typically stored in
areas slightly less accessible than FMP, but still within
close proximity to handling zones. Products in this tier
might include: Specialty Milk Products such as Vinamilk
Gold, Vinamilk Omega+, and Vinamilk Grow+

 Slow-Moving Products (SMP): The bottom tier, SMP,


consists of products with low demand and turnover rates.
These products are often stored in less accessible areas,
such as higher shelves or deeper sections of the
warehouse as their retrieval frequency is lower. Products
in this tier might include:Seasonal or promotional
products: would likely be placed in this tier due to their
fluctuating demand
