 FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

 Conventional
These cost-effective systems are best for small facilities with few occupants. They
use smoke detectors, heat detectors, and manual pull stations connected to a central
panel. When a device is triggered, the alarm sounds throughout the building, but it
only indicates the zone, not the exact location.
 Addressable
These more advanced systems are best for larger schools with more complex floor
plans. Each initiating device has an addressable module that communicates back to
the panel, so staff can know exactly which detector or pull station was activated.
 Wireless
These systems use radio signals instead of wiring to connect devices, which can
provide more flexibility for installation. However, there are concerns about reliability
and interference.

Here are some specifications for addressable fire alarm systems:

● Operating temperature: The ambient operating temperature range can be

between 0°C and 49°C (32°F and 120°F).
● Standby and alarm current: The maximum standby current is 95 mA at 24
VDC, and the maximum alarm current is 230 mA at 24 VDC.
● Communication: The communication type can be RS-485 or RS-232C.
● Dimensions: The dimensions can be 415 mm (H) x 350 mm (W) x 65 mm (D).
● Battery: The battery power supply can be DC 24V with two sealed batteries,
each 12V and 4Ah.
● Loop capacity: The loop capacity can be up to 254 points.
● Contacts capacity: The contacts capacity can be 1A/24VDC with an output
current of 500mA.
● Standards: The standards can be EN54-2 1997, A1: 2006 and EN54-4 1997,
A1: 2002 & A2: 2006.
Addressable fire alarm systems have several advantages over
conventional systems, including:

● Faster response: Addressable systems respond to emergencies faster.

● Easier maintenance: Addressable systems are self-diagnosing and easier to
maintain.
● Fewer false alarms: Addressable systems have fewer false alarms and
advanced diagnostics.
● More customization: Addressable systems can be customized and adapted to
the layout of a building.

scalable design flexibility.

FIRE DETECTORS
Smoke Detectors

Manual Pull Stations
