1. In your opinion, what does the song imply? Explain why.

I immediately knew as I was listening that this song was making reference to Filipino culture. How can
I express that? First, the song's primary lyric, "MAHIRAP MAGING MAHIRAP," conveys the reality that
the majority of Filipinos either live in poverty or in ordinary families. The words of the song continue
to convey the idea that while being poor is not something that everyone wants to experience, it is still
true that there is still a fair distribution of wealth and poverty in society.

2. What do you think is the contemporary issue that reflects the song?

The current concerns here are the means of subsistence for low-income Filipino families. I promise
you, as a family of average, that the low budget and the average are comparable. How can I put it?
Because of the current circumstances, I believe that a family earning on minimum wages a month is
living on a tight budget, as the cost of necessities such as food, housing, and utilities is high. I gave this
example, but why? In order to make it clearer to us all that living in poverty does not elevate one
person over another and that life is undoubtedly difficult, the song's lyrics attempt to educate
listeners.

3. How can you relate the song to the issues we are currently facing right now?

We must first ascertain the poverty rate in the Philippines. In a review of most of Southeast Asia's
poverty rates, the Philippines continues to be ranked first. The population's incidence of poverty rose
from 21.1 percent in the same time of 2020 to 23.7 percent in the first half of 2022, according to the
Philippine Statistics Authority. The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will continue under the
present administration's commitment. This initiative was thought of as a means of assisting low-
income families in escaping poverty. A line from the song "MAHIRAP MAGING MAHIRAP" talks about
how impoverished Filipino families continue to live in poverty despite government efforts to reduce
the country's poverty rate. As time passes, a large number of Filipinos remain unemployed without
support to the government.
