YOUTH SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
LYING
Prov.12.22 - Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but

they that deal truly are his delight.
Lying is a sin that God hates. One of the greatest evils of our
generation is normalizing sin. Many youths have begun to normalize
lying and they do not feel guilty about it. If you are a child of God, you
must hate everything that God hates, lying included. One of the things
that you should always remember as a youth is that lying destroys
your reputation. When your reputation is tarnished no one will trust
you and as a result you will miss opportunities that are capable of
changing your life. Stop lying and start training yourself in
righteousness. Here are seven things you should know about lying as
a youth:
1: Lying is a spirit. There is what is called a lying spirit.

Many people who lie are assisted by the lying Spirit.
1Kgs.22.23 - Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a
lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the
LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
2: God hates lying. You can never be a liar and be a

friend of God. When you start enjoying lying, you can
never walk with God. Train yourself to be a youth who
speaks the truth because God hates lying. Prov.12.22 -
Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal
truly are his delight.
3: There is no justifiable reason for lying.

• Speak the truth even when it will cost you your life.
• Speak the truth even if it will cost you your job.
• Speak the truth even if it will cost you your

relationship.
• Speak the truth even if it will cost you that business
deal.
There is no justifiable reason for lying, speak the truth
all the time! Remember you are a child of God not a
child of the devil!
4: Lying is the nature of the devil. Whenever you lie

you are manifesting the nature of the devil. You can
never be filled with the Holy Spirit and manifest the
nature of the devil. John.8.44 - Ye are of your father the
devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he
speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
5: The Bible commands us to put away lying from our

lips. If you are now a child of God you have to let go
lying lips and start telling the truth all the time.
Eph.4.25 - Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man
truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
6: Lying is a sin. Even a small lie is a sin! Now that you

are a child of God be known for speaking the truth.
The problem is that sometimes believers lie more than
unbelievers, be different and become an example to
your world. Do not sin against God through lying.
Romans 7 vs 5 When we were living in the flesh [trapped by
sin], the sinful passions, which were awakened by [that
which] the Law [identifies as sin], were at work in our body
to bear fruit for death [since the willingness to sin led to
death and separation from God]. (Amp)
7: The Holy Spirit is there to help you to speak the

truth all the time. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth
and He is ever present to guide you into all truth.
When the Holy Spirit begins to guide you, it is
impossible to continue lying. You can never be filled
with the Holy Spirit and be a liar. Receive the Holy
Spirit and allow Him to guide you into all truth! John
16 vs 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will
shew you things to come.
No more lying!
