    Reason for Ring Road of Jamshedpur Town

    Jamshedpur town or Tata Nagar is the largest and most populous town
    in Jharkhand and the first planned industrial town in India. The industrial
    development mainly happens towards western side of Adityapur.The southern
    part of Jamshedpur contains Jugsalai, Birsanagar, Kadma,Burmamines, Telco
    colony and Jojobera. Jugsalai is the commercial area which is known for the
    wholesale market. While Birsanagar, Kadma and Bagbera consists of residential
    and commercial hubs. Burmamines, Telco colony, Bagbera colony
    and Jojobera are the other main and major industrial areas of the city.

    There are 6 major roads that enter this industrial area:


    1. Nutandih-Hurlung road(5.5m carriageway) : It will act as a spur road
    that connects Telco and Tata Motors area to NH-33.
    2. Govindpur-Luyabasa Road(10m carriageway): It will also act as a spur
    road that connectsGovindpur, Telco and Tata Motors area to Luyabasa at NH-
    33.
    3. Jamshedpur-Jadugora road(7m carriageway): It connects Adityapur to
    Ghatshila via Jadugora.
    4. Tata-Hata Road SH-06 (7m carriageway):It connects Adityapur,
    Burmamines, Tata Steel Plants.Tata Motor to Odisha via Hata.
    5. Rajanagar-Jugsalai Road(7m carriageway): It connects Adityapur,
    Burmamines,Tata Steel Plants.Tata Motor to Odisha via Rajnagar, Chaibasa.

    6. Kandra-Saraikela-Chaibasa NH-43(7m Carriageway): It connects


    Kandra,Chandil,Gahmarhiya,Adityapur to Saraikela.Chaibasa and Odisha.

     Due to Industrial area on NH-33 near Jamshedpur town, traffic flow is


    obstructed and no entry is imposed during day time. Also, safety prospect of
    road is compromised due to large habitant in the market area,so the traffic can
    be diverted through Bypass which will connect all major road and this ring road
    will assist in reducing traffic volume in the urban centre.

    Total Bypass traffic coming from all connecting road: 12403 PCU.

    Based on traffic assessment 4Lane divided Carriageway has been proposed


    for Jamshedpur Ring Road/Bypass.
