Data sheet view A method of viewing content in MS Access that allows the user to edit data.
Data type A particular way in which a computer can store data.
Database A computer application that is used to organise data that can then be stored, processed and accessed electronically.
Data-capture form A form designed to collect data for a specific task.
Debug/Debugging The process of identifying and removing errors from a computer program.
Decompose Break down into smaller parts.
Design view A method of viewing content in MS Access where the layout of the database can be changed.
Digital camera A camera that captures photographs and stores them in the form of digital data.
DNS (Domain Name
System) A system used to translate the domain name (part of a URL) to an IP address.
Domain name An easy-to-remember name for a website that is found at the start of a URL e.g. google.com e.g. vnexpress.net
Electrical interference When lots of electrical devices are operating in a small area, the electrical and radio waves can cause other devices to work incorrectly.
Encryption A process that scrambles data so that it cannot be understood by unauthorised users; only the device that the data is sent to is able to <u>de</u>crypt the data using a key.
Execute Another word for running a program.
Field heading A word or phrase used to describe the contents of a field in a database.
Flashing the program Downloading the MicroPython program file to the micro:bit to run.
Float Another name for the data type "real". Any number with a decimal point, such as 1.2 or 56.8.
Flowchart A diagram showing the sequence of actions in a computer program; a graphical representation to show the steps to solve a problem.
Formula A combination of numbers, mathematical symbols, cell references and functions used to process data in a spreadsheet.
Formula bar An area in the spreadsheet window where a formula can be entered.
Fraud Deceiving (tricking) someone for financial or personal gain.
Full release In game development, the final full game released to users.
Gesture A specific movement on the micro:bit.
