A very warm greeting from Indian Institute of Information

Technology, Nagpur.

I, Dr. O.G. Kakde, am fortunate to have an opportunity to get

associated with IIIT, Nagpur as its Founder Director. I joined
this coveted Institution of National Importance on 26th June
2018 and have witnessed its phenomenal growth since then.

When I look back, I could see the transformation happened in

last few years from the humble start of IIIT, Nagpur in the Dr. Omprakash Kakde
Makeshift Campus to state-of-the-art sprawling 100 Acres Director, IIITN
Permanent Campus consisting of Air-Conditioned Classrooms
& Laboratories and soothing exteriors.

It is true that full development of the campus is a long process and will take time. But I
hope that in next few years the Campus shall be rated at par with any other Centrally
Funded Institution.

From meagre 48 students in 2016-17 to more than 1800 students in 2023-24 and expected
strength of 2200 students in 2024-25, the Institute has come a long way. The popularity of
IIIT, Nagpur is rising amongst the students due to its Interdisciplinary Academic Curriculum.
Students are offered a number of interesting combinations of minor / major courses which
provide them an opportunity to get exposure to interdisciplinary subjects. Further, the
Institute encourages its students for extra-curricular activities through various institute /
national level events.
The Institute is attracting a large number of coveted companies on campus and provides
one of the most promising placements and internships. The Institute is having one of the
best Placement Records.

The faculties are also research oriented and believes in strong Academic-Industry
Collaboration. They are engaged in Sponsored Research Projects, Workshops/Seminars,
and Consultancy Projects. The Institute has established an Institute Innovation Cell (IIC) to
foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in the Institute. The Institute has
already signed a number of Memorandum of Understandings with various
Organizations/Institutions for undertaking need-based research.
I sincerely feel that the overall experience of the students / faculties / staff at IIIT, Nagpur
shall be a fulfilling experience and the Institute shall scale new heights in the coming years.

Established in the year 2016 by Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India, Govt of
Maharashtra and TCS as Industry partner , Indian Institute of Information Technology,
Nagpur (IIITN) has emerged as one of the Premier Institution to address the challenges
faced by the Indian IT industry and growth of the domestic IT market.

The Institute has started contributing to cutting-edge research in various disciplines of

science and engineering. Further, the Institute has also started contributing in various social
and cultural activities, making it one of the best places for education and overall personality
development.

The dedicated administration, faculty and students are playing a major role in an attempt of
making IIITN a word class academic Institution. IIITN is committed to the global
competitiveness of research led education and is striving towards making it one of the top

Admissions happen through JoSAA/CSAB. Only top 2% candidates taking JEE Mains
Exam, make it to IIITN.

The Training and Placement Office sends invitations to organizations,

1 accompanied by the Job Announcement Forms, to actively participate in

campus placements, while also providing them with all the requisite
information.

description and other relevant information is provided.

The Job Announcement Form is shared with students along with any other
3 information provided by the company. Students are shortlisted as per
eligibility criteria set by the company.

As per mutual convenience, a suitable date is diligently finalized to

4 conduct the Campus Recruitment Process, ensuring a seamless
experience for all parties involved.

On the allotted day, the organization holds a pre-placement talk followed by
