What is Google
Classroom?
Google Classroom is a free tool from Google designed to facilitate classroom
management in the educational field. It acts as a hub where educators can create
virtual classrooms, assign tasks, and communicate with students efficiently.

With Google Classroom, teachers can post assignments that can include text, audio,
photos, and videos, as well as make announcements and surveys to interact with
students. This platform not only simplifies the organization of academic activities,
but also allows students to submit their work digitally and receive immediate
feedback.
In addition, Google Classroom integrates with other Google tools, such as Google
Drive and Google Docs, making it easy to access resources and collaborate on
projects.
What are their
functions?
Google Classroom is a tool designed specifically for the educational field, launched by Google
in 2014.
Its main function is to facilitate the management of virtual classrooms, allowing educators to
organize their classes more efficiently and improve communication with students. Its most
notable features include:

Task organization: Allows teachers to easily create, distribute, and evaluate assignments,
which helps reduce paper use and keep clear track of student progress.

Collaboration: Promotes a collaborative learning environment, where both teachers and


students can interact and work together on projects and activities.

Pace control: Educators can observe how students are progressing on their assignments,
allowing them to offer personalized support when necessary.
HOW TO USE AS A
TEACHER MODE?
To start using Google Classroom as a teacher, we must follow the following steps.

Sign in: Go to classroom.google.com and click “Sign in” with your Google account. If
your institution uses Google Workspace for Education, make sure you’re using that
account.
Create a class: Once you’re on the main page, you can create a new class. Click the “+”
button and select “Create class.” Fill out the required information, such as the class name
and section.
Organize classwork: On the “Classwork” page, you can create and post assignments and
materials for your students. You can also organize your posts into custom topics,
making it easier for students to navigate.
Assign assignments: You can assign assignments to your students from the same page.
When creating an assignment, you can attach documents, links, and other resources that
students will need to complete their work.
Communication with students: Use the “Announcements” section to communicate
with your students. You can post important announcements, reminders, or any
other information relevant to the class.
Monitoring progress: Google Classroom allows you to view your students’
progress on assigned tasks. You can review submissions and provide feedback
directly on the platform.
Access to the mobile app: If you prefer to use your mobile device, you can
download the Google Classroom app. From there, you will be able to access your
classes, assignments, and communicate with your students more conveniently
