1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A,B,C,D and E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with
subparts of values 1,1 and 2 marks.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of 2 marks,
2 Questions of 3 marks, 2 Questions of 5 marks and 1 question in the 2 marks subpart
of Section E have been provided.

26 Srinath has two vessels containing 720 ml and 405 ml of milk respectively. Milk from these 3
containers is poured into glasses of equal capacity to their brim. Find the minimum number of
glasses that can be filled.

27 If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial 6y2 – 7y + 2, find a quadratic polynomial whose 3
zeroes are 1/α and 1/β.

28 A) Draw the graph of 2y = 4x – 6 and 2x = y + 3 and determine whether this system of linear 3
equations has a unique solution or not.
OR
B) Solve the following pair of linear equations for x and y:
141x + 93y = 189;
93x + 141y = 45

29 Find a relation between x and y such that the point P(x, y) is equidistant from the points A (2, 5) 3
and B (-3, 7).

30 A) If sin θ = 1/2, then show that 3 cos θ – 4 cos3 θ = 0. 3

B) Prove the identity: (sec A – cos A). (cot A + tan A) = tan A sec A

31 A brooch is made with silver wire in the form of a circle with diameter 35 mm. The wire is also 3
used in making 5 diameters which divide the circle into 10 equal sectors as shown in given figure.

Find :
i) The total length of the silver wire required.
ii) The area of each sector of the brooch.

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each .

B) In the figure, from an external point P, two tangents PT and PS are drawn to a circle with centre
O and radius r. If OP = 2r, show that ∠OTS = ∠OST = 30°.

A) The angle of elevation of the top of a tower 24 m high from the foot of another tower in the
same plane is 600 . The angle of elevation of the top of second tower from the foot of the first
tower is 300 . Find the distance between two towers and the height of the other tower. Also,
find the length of the wire attached to the tops of both the towers.

B)The angle of elevation of a cloud from a point 60m above a lake is 30 0and angle of
depression of the reflection of cloud in the lake is 60 0.Find the height of the cloud.

While designing the school year book, a teacher told the student that the length and width of a
particular photo is increased by x units each to double the area of the photo. The original photo is
18 cm long and 12 cm wide. 4=

III) What should be the new dimensions of the enlarged photo?

Can any rational value of x make the new area equal to 220 cm2 ? Give justification.

Vijay is trying to find the average height of a tower near his house. He is using the properties of
similar triangles. The height of Vijay’s house if 20m when Vijay’s house casts a shadow 10m long 4=
on the ground. At the same time, the tower casts a shadow 50m long on the ground and the house
of Ajay casts 20m shadow on the ground.

The mathematics teacher of a school on an educational trip to Red fort told the students that in this 4=
monument one can find combination of solid figures. There are 2 pillars which are cylindrical in
shape. Also 2 domes at the corners which are hemispherical.7 smaller domes at the centre. Flag
hoisting ceremony on Independence Day takes place near these domes.

I) How much cloth material will be required to cover 2 big domes each of radius 2.5 metres? (Take
𝜋 = 22/7)
II) Find the lateral surface area of two pillars if height of the pillar is 7m and radius of the base is
