Short adjectives (tính từ ngắn) Long adjectives (tính từ dài)

Tính từ dài là những tính từ gồm từ 2,3 âm
Tính từ ngắn là những tính từ gồm 1
tiết trở lên
hoặc 2 âm tiết.
- tired
- nice

-Tính từ tận cùng “e” , thêm “-r” / “ er” Để chuyển sang dạng so sánh ta thêm
vào cuối tính từ ấy. “more” lên trước tính từ dài.
- nice nicer - intelligentmore intelligent
- long longer - expensive  more expensive
-tính từ tận cùng là “y”, ta đổi “y”  “ier” * Tính từ kết thúc bằng -ed, -ing, -ful, -less, ,
- dry drier ous , ive , ic ,…khi chuyển sang dạng so sánh
- happy happier hơn, ta đều coi nó là tính từ dài
-Tính từ tận cùng : y, ow, et , le , được boredmore bored
xem là tính từ ngắn interesting more interesting

Ex : Phong is taller than Trang. (Phongcao hơn Trang.)

So sánh dạng gấp nhiều lần (Multiple Numbers Comparison)
Đó là dạng so sánh về số lần: một nửa(half), gấp đôi (twice), gấp ba (three times)…
S + V + multiple numbers + as + much/many/adj/adv + (N) + as + N/pronoun.
The bicycle costs three times as much as the other one.
Mary types twice as fast as I do.

So sánh kép trong câu đơn : adj-er and adj-er / more and more adj / adv
It is becoming darker and darker. = Trời đang trở nên càng ngày càng tối sầm lại.

So sánh kém hơn với tính từ/trạng từ:
S + V + less + Adj/Adv + than + Noun/Pronoun
= S + V + not as + Adj/Adv + as + noun/pronoun.
Ex : I am less beautiful than my sister. = I am not as beautiful as my sister .= My sister is
more beautiful than me.
