HYDRAULICS (CIVE 1517) - ASSIGNMENT (3) 10

NAME: ………………………………………………… ACADEMIC NUMBER:……………………

1. A centrifugal water pump has the following coordinates of its performance curves:
Q)l/s( ‫التصريف‬ 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80
Head)m( ‫الرفع‬ 80 78 75 71 63 50 33 13

 Find the coordinates of the performance curve when two of the above pump is connected in
parallel and in series.
 Draw the performance curves for single pump, two pumps in series and two pumps in parallel.
 Find the duty points if single pump, two pumps in series, two pumps in parallel are connected to a
pipeline with the following characteristics:

Diameter= 300mm, Length= 20 km, Hazen –Williams coefficient CH=120, Elevation Difference between
discharge and source tanks=50m
