Course : The objective of this course on Core Hardware is to provide students with a
Objective comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and
technologies that underlie modern computer systems. This includes topics
such as computer architecture, memory management, and the design and
implementation of operating systems. The course typically covers both
theoretical and practical aspects of computer systems, and aims to equip
students with the knowledge and skills needed to design, implement, and
troubleshoot computer systems.

Course Objective : This course introduces students to computer networks and concentrates on
building a firm foundation for understanding Data Communications and
Computer Networks. It is based around the OSI Reference Model that deals
with the major issues in the bottom three (Physical, Data Link and Network)
layers of the model. Students are also introduced to the areas of Network
Security and Mobile Communications.
Course Outcome : After the completion of the course, students would be able to:
CO1 : Understand the concept of Basic Network and the working principle of OSI and
TCP/IP model.
CO2 : Identify the Networking Devices and Network Cables and also demonstrate the
function of each Network Topologies.

Course Objective : Students are able to learn basic concepts of computer networking and acquire
practical notions of protocols with the emphasis on TCP/IP. A lab provides a
practical approach to Ethernet/Internet networking: networks are assembled,
and experiments are made to understand the layered architecture and how do
some important protocols work.
Prerequisite(s) : Fundamental knowledge of computer Hardware.

Crimping of cables and checking of cables using Cable tester; Connectivity of systems, LAN configuration and
sharing of files and folders using workgroup model.
Basic commands of Router, Different modes of Router - Commands corresponding to each mode; Router
password recovery, IOS backup and restore, telnet configuration.
Static Routing configuration; Dynamic Routing configuration using RIPv1 and v2; Dynamic Routing
