ENGINEER’S REPORT :
WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT APPLICATION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Armand’s Resort is a leisure resort project located at Brgy. San
Vicente, Banga, South Cotabato. The project was issued with an
Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC R12- 1504-0044) last 2015.
The project started its project development and fully opened last
February 2016 with facilities as follows:
One (1) unit Children’s Swimming Pool;
1.1 One (1) unit Adults Swimming Pool;
1.2 Ten (10) units Open Cottages;
1.3 Four (4) units Public Wash Rooms/Toilets;
1.4 One (1) unit Pond;
1.5 One (1) unit Sand Filter Machine;
1.6 One (1) unit Submersible Pump;
1.7 One (1) unit Function Hall;
1.8 Eight (8) units Lodging Rooms;
1.9 One (1) unit Restaurant;
1.10Parking Area.
Type of Business
The leisure resort focuses in providing quality service for the guests for
their recreation, quality food and enjoyment.
Project Location
The Leisure Resort is located along the National Highway of Marbel-
Banga Route, Brgy. San Vicente, Banga, South Cotabato.
Water Supply
The water supply of the project comes from a drilled deep well of about
100 feet, of which at times flows with little effort of pump. The average
extraction would only reach 1.5-2 cu.m. per day. Only during the
maintenance of the pool does the project require volume of water to be
extracted.
Drainage system
There are two types of drainage system for the project. For the
domestic use, the wastewater flows directly to the septic tanks.
Wastewater from swimming pools goes to the water lagoon ( a
constructed fishpond) which serves as an aesthetic landscape of the
area.
Sewage Disposal System
The sewage disposal of the project goes to the three chambered septic
vault intended for the domestic waste of the project. This is utilized by
the restaurant, function hall, and other facilities.
Wastewater Generation and total daily discharge.
Based on the simple computation of the baseline use of water of
the project will be as follows:
1. For the lodging rooms (8)= 20liters/day*8rooms= 160 liters
per day (conservative value)
*however, the eight room (motel type) is rarely availed in the
project.
2. For restaurant= 200 liters per day (conservative value)
3. For Laundry and other utilities= 350 liters per day
(conservative value).
4. Swimming pool (infinity pool) = accumulated average of
4,000 liters per day (160 cu.m./month).
5. Others= 300 liters (loses from gardening, evaporation,
percolation, water spills).
THE PROJECT HAS A TOTAL OF 5 CU.M. PER DAY DAILY
DISCHARGE BASED ON CONSERVATIVE VALUE. THIS MAY
BE LOWER FROM THE ACTUAL USE OF THE PROJECT.
Dislodge of waste
Wastewater are discharge from septic vault on domestic use.
This undergoes natural aerobic disintegration of waste. The
accumulation of solid waste will be dislodged every ten (10) years by a
registered septic collector.
Water from the swimming pool is treated with chlorine. The
forms most often used are liquid chlorine and calcium or sodium
hypochlorite. The advantage of the pool is that it uses the technology
of infinity pool, which is to reuse the water using filtration
method. Wastewater are discharged only upon maintenance of the
pool usually at the end of the month.
1.8 Environmental Management Plan
Waste management is one of the most effective action towards
Environmental Preservation and conservation. One way in making this
happen is through proper disposal of waste.
- For Kitchen and Domestic Wastewater, it will be discharged and
collected in a septic tank provided.
- Clean up of the project area as a regular activity and a corporate
social responsibility of conservation and making a contribution by
collecting and separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable
materials in order to reduce build up of solid waste in seashores.
- Cleaning of drainage systems to avoid clogging and decomposition
of organic matter and prevent high concentration of wastewater
quality.
- Attendance from seminar regarding environmental management.
- Reporting of compliances and measures undertaken in the project.
