    MOTIVATION LETTER

    Friedrich Nietzsche statement that “The purpose of criminal law is to punish the enemies of
    those in power,” is a thought-provoking statement that challenges our assumptions about the
    nature and function of justice. As an aspiring law student, I am aware of the potential for law
    to be used as a tool of oppression rather than justice. Therefore, this realization has driven me
    to pursue Law at the University of Manchester to further understand the power robust that
    shape our legal framework and work towards creating a more equal society.

    Prosecutors play a vital role in the criminal justice system. They represent the government in
    criminal cases, aiming to ensure that justice is served. Their primary duties include
    conducting investigations, gathering evidence, filing charges, and prosecuting defendants in
    court. Prosecutors must be skilled in legal analysis, courtroom advocacy, and negotiation.
    They also work closely with law enforcement agencies, victims, and witnesses to build strong
    cases and seek appropriate sentences.

    The University of Manchester Law School is renowned for its academic excellence and
    commitment to producing top legal professionals. With a rich history dating back to 1851, the
    school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including LLB,
    LLM, and PhD degrees. Students benefit from a supportive learning environment,
    experienced faculty, and access to state-of-the-art facilities. The school's programs are
    designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to
    succeed in the legal profession. Additionally, the law school offers various extracurricular
    activities and opportunities for students to engage in research and pro bono work, enhancing
    their overall legal education. Additionally, I am excited about the possibility of participating
    in the exchange program to Tsinghua University, China. The opportunity to study in such a
    prestigious institution would provide me with invaluable exposure to different legal systems
    and perspectives, enhancing my understanding of the law and preparing me for a successful
    career in the global legal field.

    “The prosecutor is not merely an attorney for the state; he is a servant of justice.” I am eager
    to make a positive impact on the world through my legal career and the Global Youth
    Scholars Program will provide me with the support and resources I need to reach my full
    potential. Like a skilled surgeon, a prosecutor must possess a keen intellect, steady hands, and
    a deep understanding of the human condition. This scholarship would not only provide me
    with financial support but would also open doors to new opportunities and experiences that
    will help me excel in this challenging and rewarding profession. Thank you for considering
    my application.
