NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION,

BIAKOYE DISTRICT
Loc. Nkonya Wurupong
P. O. BOX 40
Our Ref: NASPA/OTI/BIA/26 Date: 02/07/2024

TO: ALL NSS DIRECTORS

ALL USER AGENCIES
ALL NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL
OTHER STAKEHOLDERS
NOTICE OF STRIKE ACTION.
We are disheartened to write and notify all Stakeholders of our strike action taking effect from today
2nd July, 2024 Until allowances are paid.
The following are challenges that necessitate our decision to embark on this strike action;
1. Inability to pay our accommodation and utility bills due to non payment of allowances.
2. Inability to transport ourselves to our various User Agencies regularly to meet our required
number of days to be qualified for validation due to non payment of allowances.
3. Inability to feed ourselves at our various workplace.
4. Borrowing money from different sources to survive the hardship we are going through.
5. Development of health complicated issues.
We are entitled to our monthly allowance as we render mandatory service to the state. As at now
the government is owing trainees five (5) months allowance and graduates from the Universities
three (3) months.
According to NSS rules and regulations, Personnel who fail to report at post for three months after
posting will be sanctioned, and we have been working with empty stomach and other unfriendly
conditions of work for five (5 ) and three (3) months now without allowance.
We are also suppose to work for some required number of days to be qualified for validation for
payment of allowances, and we have to always borrow money to meet this requirements. This is
what we refer to as slavery, we are abused, we have been maltreated, our workforce is undermined
and our service to the nation is not duly recognized.
Meanwhile, National Service Personnel have been pillars behind the success of most public and
private institutions in the state. Our productivity cannot go unnoticed, many agencies understaffed
are requesting for more Service Personnel, yet our efforts are not regarded important to the state.
We are a unique Workforce in the state and must be treated equally and fairly.
