2. Data type and description
1. Inspection program
The inspection program is the data used by the inspection machine to execute inspection.
It consists of inspection positions, positions of fiducial marks, zero levels, light intensity, etc. of each PCB.

The home position of the PCB varies according to the flow of the PCB and references. (Refer to Section 2.4.)

2. Parts data
The parts data consists of the X coordinate and Y coordinate of each pad (opening) of each part from the center of the
part, length of each side of the pad and so on. The parts data is stored in the "parts" folder. (Extension plt)
The dimensions necessary for creation of the parts data are shown in the figure below. However, all these dimensions
may not be necessary.

3. Spec data
The spec data contains the inspection items and judgment criteria. The spec data is stored in the "spec" folder in the
folder for each inspection machine. (File name: Spec3k.dat)

4. Gerber data
The data about the openings can be obtained easily if the Gerber data of the metal mask is used.

5. Mount parts data

Because there is no concept about parts in the Gerber data, parts cannot be allocated. The mount parts data functions as

2
a supplement to supply information about parts and it consists of the layout name, mount coordinates, external
dimensions of each part (unnecessary if chip only), mount angle and other particulars.

6. Inspection transition data

The measurement data file of results of measurement of the inspection machine is uploaded from the inspection machine

and converted into a CSV file so that it can be read using Excel. The converted file is saved in a creation date subfolder
created in the "RealData" folder in the folder for each inspection machine with the name of the inspection program.

7. Histor y of real-time data

The data collected in real-time data collection is saved in the same folder as the inspection transition data. The data can
be checked later.

4. Datum of Coordinate System
There are the following four types in the coordinate system of the PCB, based on the combination of the
direction of flow with the position of the datum. When creating the inspection program at the data station,
use the same coordinate system as that used in the main body of the inspection machine.

The data entry method for coordinates, part names and so on is as follows.

• Value entr y
Only 0 to 9 can be entered. The decimal point "." can be entered when it is necessary. When a negative value is
necessary, "-" can be entered. Use single-byte characters.

Find the maximum of all the distances between the height of each pad and “the approximated virtual plane” calcluated
by the average heights of all the pads in a part.
If the approximated virtual plane can’t be calculated due to some reasons like as there are only three pads, it is
calculated by the maximum difference among all the average heights.
The maximum slope in a part must be less than 300 micro meters.
