OBJECTIVES:
A. CONTENT STANDARD: The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary
Philippine literature as a means of responding to the demands of the global village;
various extended text types; lexical and contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral
language, stance, and behavior; and use of imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh-
questions.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learner transfers learning by: explaining the need to be
cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using appropriate strategies to
comprehend extended text types; using lexical and contextual clues to understand
unfamiliar words and expressions; using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and
polite oral language, stance and behavior in various information-sharing formats.

At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:


1. Defined an informative essay;
2. Explained the significance of being an informed individual;

Body of the essay is the section that provides
information and arguments that supports the
main point stated in the introduction. We should bear
in mind that when we are writing an informative
essay, we should support the main idea with facts
and arguments to solidify it, making it more
interesting to the readers.

summary of the whole essay it encourages the reader
to seek out more information about a topic.

Do you know what the difference between a


reserve and a zoo is? A reserve is a piece of land
set aside to protect animals. On a reserve, the
animals live out doors. They must also hunt for their
own food. Reserves are different from zoos. In a
zoo, animals live in cages. Most animals also live
away from each other. They do not hunt for their own
food. Reserves and zoos help keep animals safe.
