Formatting Images
When we add a picture in our word document, a contextual tab Format appears on the
ribbon. You can further format your pictures in your document using this tab. It has 5 groups of
related commands:
1. Adjust
2. Picture Styles
3. Accessibility
4. Arrange
5. Size
Adjust
Adjust Group provides various options to enhance and modify your images.
The options available in adjust group are:
Remove Background: This option allows you to remove the background of the picture. The
major drawback of this option is that most of the time it does not work efficiently.
Correction: This option allows you to enhance the quality of your picture. You can adjust:
Sharpness: Make the picture clearer or blurrier.
Brightness: Make the picture lighter or darker.
Contrast: Increase or decrease the difference between the light and dark areas.
Color: This feature helps you modify the color attributes of your picture:
Saturation: Adjust the intensity of the colors.
Color Tone: Change the warmth or coolness of the colors.
Recolor: Apply a color filter to change the overall hue of the picture.
Artistic Effects: Apply different effects to your picture to give it a unique look, such as:
Sketch
Chalk Sketch
Paint Brush
Textured effects like Mosaic Bubbles

Picture Styles offers a variety of predefined styles and effects to give your images a
polished, professional look.
Size
The options available are:
Crop: This tool allows you to remove unwanted parts of your picture. You can:
Crop to Shape: Crop the picture to a specific shape.
Aspect Ratio: Maintain specific width-to-height ratios while cropping.
Crop to Fill or Fit: Fill a shape or fit within a shape.
Size: Adjust the overall dimensions of your picture:
Height: Set the height of your picture.
Width: Set the width of your picture.
