TRASHTAG

One-stop solution for Waste


Detection, Geotagging, and Pickup

APPLICATION, AND NOT JUST A PROTOTYPE

Geocoding and Maps API, Authentication, Native Features (Eg. Camera,

DETECTION
One of the most prominent barriers to waste collection is its
appropriate classification and segregation.
Since the collected E-waste, for instance, differs widely from
collected vegetable waste in terms of reusing and recycling, the
wastes must be segregated and treated according to the sub-
type, which is almost never done by usual consumers due to lack
of appropriate technology solutions.

LOCATING

THE PROBLEM Even if the waste gets classified, absence of its geotagging
prevents people from taking any action for disposal. Tonnes of
waste keeps piling on because appropriate waste pickup
authorities do not have exact location of waste materials.

MANAGEMENT
There is a massive disconnect between the residents who see
piles of waste and witness the absence of disposal, and the waste
management authorities. Connecting every consumer/resident
with a waste disposal authority is the necessary step towards
Circular Economy.

TrashTag is a multi-dimensional one-stop solution towards Waste Management.
This user-friendly mobile app encourages appropriate Waste disposal by
providing detection, classification, geotagging, and on-demand pickup features.

login to the app by
providing the E-Mail

Geotagging
The waste found by the users can be marked
on the map.
Since the data is updated in Real-time, all
other users and disposal service providers
would be able to view the location of Waste.
On-demand
pickup
For appropriate
disposal of wastes by
authorities, TrashTag
offers a list of “Waste
Pickup Services Near
Me”, with the average
price they set for per
kilogram of waste.
On clicking a particular
service provider, the
users are directed to a
form that asks for their
details like phone
number and address.
The users are required
to indicate the type of
waste for pickup.
Based on approx.
Quantity of waste, the
ETA of the authorities is
calculated.
Detection

The detection feature
of TrashTag is used for
detecting the various
types of Waste.

The Classification
feature is developed
particularly for
differentiating
Electronic Waste from
other kinds of waste
materials.
Since the E-Waste
disposal and
subsequent treatment
differs from the other
types, the classification
feature, along with
pickup services, allows
appropriate disposal
and pickup of E-Waste.
Forums
TrashTag provides a unique interface for the
users to communicate with each other.
Relevant statistics, opinions, facts, or
updates/accomplishments can be shared on
the platform to foster a sense of community
connected by the united efforts towards
