4: FIRST AID MEASURES


Eyes: Irrigate immediately with copious quantities of water for several minutes. Obtain medical attention
urgently.
Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water or suitable skin cleanser as soon as possible.
Inhalation: Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm and obtain medical attention urgently.
Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Obtain medical attention urgently.

5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES


Suitable Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, powder or foam.
Special Exposure Hazards: Toxic fumes. For further information see Section 10.
Special Protective Equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus.
6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Immediately
issue NO SMOKING and NO NAKED FLAMES warnings.
Environmental Precautions: Prevent entry into drains, sewers and water courses.

Decontamination Procedures: Soak up with inert absorbent or contain and remove by best available means.
Gather into containers. Clean contaminated area with water.

7: HANDLING AND STORAGE


Handling: Maintain good standards of personal hygiene. Use only in well ventilated areas. Avoid breathing
vapours. Avoid skin and eye contact. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory
equipment.
Storage: Keep containers dry and tightly closed. Store between (ºC) 5 - 25.

Engineering Control Measures: Use only in well ventilated areas. Local exhaust ventilation is recommended.
Personal Protective Equipment: In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment. (Class 1
respirator CE marked to EN 140, with EN 141/143 Type A1 filter.). Avoid skin
and eye contact. Impervious gloves (eg PVC). Safety glasses (Conforming to
EN 166) / Goggles (Conforming to EN 166).

10: STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stability: Hazardous polymerisation will not occur unless exposed to amines,
alcohols, water, acids or heat
Conditions to Avoid: Contamination with water. Temperatures (ºC) above 50°C.
Materials to Avoid: Contamination by water. Alcohols. Amines

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Thermal decomposition:- Oxides of carbon, in some fire
circumstances, hydrogen cyanide. Chlorine compounds including
hydrogen chloride.

11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION


The following toxicological assessment is based on a knowledge of the toxicity of the product's components.

Health Effects
On Eyes: Severe irritation
On Skin: Irritation.
By Inhalation: Harmful by inhalation. Concentration-dependent risk of irritating effect on eyes, nose, throat and
respiratory tract. Delayed appearance of the complaints and development of hyper-sensitivity (difficult
breathing, coughing asthma) are possible. Hypersensitive persons may suffer from these effects even
at low isocyanate concentrations
By Ingestion: May cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Chronic: Repeated and prolonged skin contact may lead to skin disorders.
Other: Persons who suffer from hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract (e.g. asthmatics and those who suffer
from chronic bronchitis) are advised not to work with this product.

12: ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION


Environmental Assessment: When used and disposed of as intended, no adverse environmental effects are
foreseen.
Mobility: Insoluble in water.
Persistence and Degradability: Not readily biodegradable, but is inherently biodegradable.
Bioaccumulative Potential: Not expected to be bioaccumulative.
Ecotoxicity: Not expected to be ecotoxic to fish/daphnia/algae.

13: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS


Disposal must be in accordance with local and national legislation.
Unused Product: Dispose of through an authorised waste contractor to a licensed site. May be
reacted with base component to give an inert polymeric material
Used/Contaminated Product: Dispose of through an authorised waste contractor to a licensed site.
