PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 1): TECHNICAL GROUP

By: Carla Jane Bangayan

On October 9, 2024, our class began preparing for the
upcoming dance battle in our HOPE subject. We divided into three
groups based on our tasks: the Hip-Hop Group, the Festival Group,
and the Technical Group. Each group already had assigned
members when we gathered in the AVR. We also chose leaders for
each group: Keven Jher Mongcog for Hip-Hop, Ej Mercado for
Festival, and Carla Jane Bangayan for Technical.
After assigning the groups and leaders, we did a warm-up
with the Galaw Pilipinas dance to get energized and ready. Then,
each group went to their respective area to start planning and
practicing.
In the Technical Group, Carla assigned specific members to document what each group
was doing by taking photos and notes. The documentation roles went to Jenny Rose M. Medalla
for the Festival Group, Peter King De Guzman for the Hip-Hop Group, and Joel Calalo for the
Technical Group. We also assigned who would write the narrative reports: Carla Jane Bangayan
for Technical, John David Echegoren for Hip-Hop, and Kate Chua for Festival.
We also assigned specific tasks within the Technical Group to handle hair, makeup,
costumes, and props for our performance. Each member was given a role to ensure everyone
participated and knew what to do. However, since the Festival Group hasn’t finalized their plans
yet, we can't start on their props and costumes until we know what they need.
The Hip-Hop Group, on the other hand, mentioned they would take care of their own
costumes, so the Technical Group doesn’t need to worry about that. By dividing the tasks,
everything was organized, and everyone was ready to support each other as we prepared for the
dance battle. Once the Festival Group finalizes their theme, the Technical Group will be ready to
assist with any costumes and props they need.
Finally, when time was up, Ma'am Kate Dimaunahan gathered everyone to discuss what
each group had accomplished during practice. She provided feedback and shared tips to help us
improve our work and manage our tasks better. In the Technical Group, we were reminded to
clearly understand our individual tasks and responsibilities.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 1): HIP-HOP GROUP
By: John David Echegoren

The hip-hop group, led by kevin mongcog, started with their formation, coming up with a
triangular shape, after that kevin, together with the other choreographers conceptualized their
moves and steps aligning it with their chosen music.
After some time, they finally came up with their first step. After some repetitions with the
members, they then formulated their second step.
The dance crew coordinated well with each other, specifically the choreographers,
collaborating with each other, making sure each step is made in accordance with ma'am Kate's
instructions and their music.
After a couple of minutes the crew combined their first two steps, making sure everyone
got the step clearly, polishing their formation at the same time, making sure everyone has enough
space to move freely.
Finally, time is up and ma'am Kate gathered everyone to give her comments on each
group (Festival, technical, and hip-hop) explaining her observations and remarks on each group,
she also gave tips and recommendations for each group, for better execution of steps and ideas,
and to use the time efficiently.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 1): FESTIVAL GROUP
By: Kate C. Chua

The first day of practice for the festival team was a strong start, even with some
challenges along the way. It was led by EJ Mercado, the team showed great teamwork and made
significant progress during their HOPE time session.
At first, the team didn’t have a speaker, which made it difficult to hear the music clearly.
Practicing without loud music was tough, but they were fortunate to borrow a speaker from their
HOPE teacher. This helped them hear the music better and continue their practice smoothly.
Despite having only a short amount of time, the team managed to create and practice
several dance steps. They even completed 4/8 counts of their steps and crafted their first
formation. Aside from that, their practice was continuous because they are prepared and doesn't
need to make or come up with a dance steps during the practice because the leader was already
made a dance steps in his mind together with other group members.
After the practice, our Teacher in HOPE called us to report the progress of each group
and EJ said that, one area to improve is that the members need to focus more on carefully
listening to the steps to stay in sync with each other.
Overall, the practice was a success. With limited time and resources, the team made
impressive progress, and with more practice, they are sure to perform well at the festival
competition with other sections.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 2): TECHNICAL GROUP
By: Carla Jane Bangayan

On October 16, 2024, the technical group began working on props and costumes. We
started with the hand props, creating rings that the festival members will use. These rings are
made from used or scratch bond papers. We also cut crepe paper into strips and attached them to
the rings to make colorful hand props.
We also tried making another prop—a basket—using colored paper. However, we
realized it wasn’t sturdy enough because the paper was too soft and wouldn’t stand on its own.
Additionally, we began cutting sako fabric for the costumes and planned how to assemble
and design them to fit the festival’s theme.

Ma'am Kate also asked us if the props were sturdy enough for the performers to use, so
we’re now thinking about what we can do to improve them.

We actually have a sketch that will serve as a guide to help us complete the costumes.
Since time was limited, we weren’t able to finish all the tasks, but at least we’ve made a good
start.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 2): HIP-HOP GROUP
By: John David Echegoren

The hip-hop group started their session with a warm-up, getting everyone ready for the
day's practice. After warming up, they jumped straight into rehearsing their steps, carefully
counting the beats to stay in sync.
They then shifted their focus to creating a new step, experimenting with different ideas.
Once they settled on one, they ran through the entire routine, incorporating the new addition. As
the practice went on, they continued building on the choreography, pausing frequently to count
in and out to maintain rhythm and timing.
Unfortunately, by the end of the session, progress was slower than expected. It was
taking them too long to master the new moves, and they struggled to keep everything on track.
Despite the challenges, they stayed focused, knowing they needed more time and effort to perfect
the routine.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 2): FESTIVAL GROUP
By: Jenny Rose Medalla

The festival team started by warming up to get their bodies ready for practice. After the
warm-up, they picked up where they left off in their previous practice. They spent some time
polishing the steps they had already learned, making sure they were doing everything correctly.
Once they felt confident with those steps, their leader began teaching them new ones.
They focused on learning one step at a time. The team made sure to count their
movements together so that everything was in sync. However, some members were either late or
absent that day. The members who were late quickly caught up with the group and were able to
learn the steps faster than expected, which helped speed up the practice.
By the end of the session, they had added six new steps to their routine. Although they
still have a lot more to practice, they are making good progress. If they continue working at this
fast pace and cooperate well as a team, they will be able to finish their dance on time.

PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 3): TECHNICAL GROUP

By: Carla Jane Bangayan
On November 6, 2024, the technical group was left in the room to complete the
remaining tasks. Due to the two missed meetings for the HOPE subject caused by suspension,
the tasks for the technical group were divided among the members to complete at home. Each
member was assigned specific props and costumes to work on individually.
The Bilao was finished at school, while the Basket was given to two members, who
completed it at home. The Headdress was assigned to some members to finish at home, with the
remaining work done at school. The Hand Props were entirely completed at home.
For the costumes, six members shared the task of making the skirts for the female
costumes and the largest costume. Four members worked together on creating the vests and
bottoms for the male costumes. Two members were assigned to work on the Sashes at home.
Regarding the Standee and backdrop, our adviser, Ma’am Shalle Tajora, allowed us extra
time to finish them, so we completed the standee and backdrop made of tarpaper at school. The
only remaining task was to attach the pieces of the backdrop together.
PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 3): FESTIVAL GROUP
By: Carla Jane Bangayan

The festival group went also to the AC to practice their dance. They are now in the
developing stage, focusing on learning the steps for the last part of their dance while also
improving the performance from the beginning. The group spent a lot of time repeating each
section to make sure their movements were smooth and in sync. They also worked on getting
their transitions between steps right to keep the dance flowing well.
While watching, Ma’am Kate pointed out a few things that needed improvement. She
noticed that the members were not dancing in sync, with some falling behind or moving too
early. She also reminded them to work on their facial expressions, saying that their faces should
show energy and emotion to match their movements.
One member, Adi Requiero, caught Ma’am Kate’s attention. She said he was putting in
the most effort, and his performance was impressive. Adi stood out because he danced with big,
clear movements and made sure every step was done properly. He was very detailed and precise,
which made his dancing look strong and confident. Ma’am Kate encouraged the others to follow
his example and bring the same level of energy and focus to their performance.

PRE-COMPETITION (PREPARATION DAY 3): HIP-HOP GROUP

By: Carla Jane Bangayan

The hip-hop group went to the AC to practice. They had already finished learning and
teaching the steps and were now focused on polishing the entire dance routine. Ma'am Kate
advised them that they tend to fall forward, which is a common issue for dancers. She explained
that this is a natural problem, but to address it, they decided to start the dance further back so that
if they do fall forward, it wouldn't be too close to the judges. The group agreed with the
suggestion and worked on improving their timing and spacing to prevent any mistakes during the
performance. Everyone was determined to give their best, making sure that they looked clean
and smooth for the judges.

COMPETITION DAY:

Last Wednesday, November 13, 2024, our section participated in the much-anticipated
dance battle, an event filled with energy, creativity, and camaraderie. The day started early for
the Hip-Hop Crew and the Festival Group, who arrived at school with unwavering
determination. Both groups, along with the Technical Working Group, were busy with final
preparations, each member playing a vital role in ensuring the team’s success.
Before the dance competition began, the festival team was already preparing earlier than
the given time. Each member, along with the technical team, double-checked their costumes to
ensure everything was in good condition. An hour before the contest began, every member of the
festival team started doing their makeup, with the help of the technical team, adding accessories
such as headdresses, sashes, and more. When they finished getting ready, they lined up with
other festival teams from different sections. At the same time, the hip-hop crew and technical
team were finalizing their own preparations, ensuring they were set for their performances.
As the time for our performance drew
closer, the entire section came together for a
moment of unity. In a heartfelt prayer, we
sought guidance and strength for what lay
ahead. This collective act of faith and
encouragement ignited our spirits, and the air
was filled with a resounding cheer that boosted
everyone’s confidence and morale.
When it was finally our turn to take the
stage, the energy from the audience was
palpable. Cheers echoed through the venue as
our crew stepped onto the dance floor. Each member of the team poured their heart into the
performance, showcasing their unique moves and impeccable skills. The hard work, late-night
practices, and countless hours of dedication were evident in every step, turn, and beat.
The competition was fierce, with each section delivering incredible performances that
highlighted their creativity and talent. As the culminating round approached, nerves began to
build. The atmosphere was electric as everyone awaited the announcement of results.
When the results were revealed, our section was declared the 1st runner-up of the
competition. Though we narrowly missed the top spot, the achievement was a testament to the
teamwork, passion, and determination that define our beloved section. This victory, while sweet,
also serves as a motivation to continue striving for excellence in the future.
While for the festival team showcased their costumes by walking on stage. The first team
to compete in the dance battle was the hip-hop team, where everyone poured all their effort and
talent. After that, it was the festival team's turn. Every section showcased different festivals of
Valenzuela, mostly featuring San Roque; our section was one of them. When it was our section's
time to perform, some technical team members were on standby to ensure props were in place.
Throughout the performance, every dancer gave their best, but there was one mistake:
one member didn't have a prop. However, that didn't stop our festival team; they continued as if
nothing had happened. When it was time for the winner announcement, everyone was nervous
and excited simultaneously. Our hip-hop team secured 1st runner-up, while the festival team won
2nd runner-up. Despite not being the champion, our section cheered and celebrated our win.

Amid the excitement, one of the most heartwarming moments was seeing our very
supportive adviser, Ma’am Tajora, in the audience. She was there, cheering us on and sharing in
our triumph. Her pride in our performance and unwavering support throughout the journey made
the day even more special.

As for the technical group, there were problems, especially with the backdrop. The
assigned members for that group were not responding to their leaders about the boxes that were
going to be used. They also didn’t come to school early, which caused things to be rushed. It was
actually a failure because it wasn’t stabilized, and since it wasn’t done earlier, it couldn’t be
practiced alongside the props. Because of this, the festival and technical teams couldn't practice
the flow of using the props. Although there were problems, the show must go on because we
didn’t have any other choice.
Overall, everyone did a great job but also needs to learn more for improvement and
cooperation. Each one of us had some shortcomings, but the experience was an opportunity for
growth and teamwork.
POST-COMPETITION: INSIGHTS OF EVERYONE
(TECHNICAL GROUP)
 Carla Jane Bangayan
This dance battle contest is a great experience and opportunity to showcase our talent, not only in
dancing but also in crafting designs and recycling materials. Our effort was worth it, and it made
our section unite as one, especially with those who are willing to help others. There are also
some realizations and problems that need to be addressed for each team. We don't have proper
communication, or we lack it, which is why we encountered some problems. The cooperation
and willingness of everyone, especially in the technical group, were lacking. They didn’t have
the initiative to do their tasks properly. Meanwhile, the dancers were not listening to others'
suggestions and were not giving their best at all. Some of us are just settling for less instead of
doing our best. I think these are the things we need to improve as a whole. But overall, I'm very
proud of each and every one of us.
 Rica Chavez
The dance battle competition on November 13, 2024, showcased the high level of talent and
dedication from every group, from the technical team to the hip-hop and festival dancers. The
audience was impressed by the creative choreography, precision, and energy poured into each
performance. Though our section did not win the championship, everyone contributed to the
success of the celebration.
 Michaela Bertulfo
Each section of Grade 12 demonstrated their skills, talents, and dedication to deliver their
performances. It’s amazing how, in such a short time, they were able to excel in a competition
that gave everyone the opportunity to showcase their abilities. It was also inspiring to see how
our section worked together, devoting their time and effort to succeed in this competition.
 Jenny Rose Medalla
Despite various difficulties, our section still managed to complete each person’s tasks. Everyone
was able to fulfill their assigned responsibilities. After the contest, we saw how each individual
put their best effort and showcased a wonderful performance.
 Patrick Baldos
Grade 12 students showcased their talents and dedication, excelling in a competition that
highlighted their abilities in a short time. It was inspiring to witness our section’s teamwork and
commitment, which led to our success.
 Airylle Palad
The dance battle between each Grade 12 section was enjoyable because everyone gave their best
to make their hard work worthwhile. Our section secured 1st and 2nd place in the competition,
making it truly rewarding. We witnessed the efforts of both the hip-hop and festival groups
during their practices, and we also saw the challenges faced by the technical team in creating
props for both groups.
 David Echegoren
Despite the intense competition, our team gave everything we had on the dance floor. Each
member poured their heart into every move, showcasing passion and precision. In the end, our
hard work paid off as we celebrated victories in both the festival and hip-hop dance battles.
 Karl Tamado
Our section did great in the competition, winning 1st and 2nd place. It was a proud moment for
all of us, showing that our teamwork and effort paid off. Even though we faced challenges along
the way, we overcame them.
 Joel Calalo
The recent competition was a whirlwind of excitement. We didn't win the championship, but our
section worked hard. Even though the competition was intense, we managed to secure 1st and
2nd place.
 Yuri Aricayos
Our section united in the dance battle. All members worked hard to succeed, and we won 1st and
2nd place.
 Irish Cañiza
Even though the schedule of the final dance battle was moved, it didn’t stop the students from
showcasing their talents and creativity. Both the hip-hop and festival teams from each section did
an outstanding job in representing their categories. This proves that through dancing, we can
truly unite and move as one.
 Jennilyn Valera
The dance battle event on November 13, 2024, highlighted the remarkable talent and
commitment of all participating groups, including the technical, hip-hop, and festival dance
teams. The audience was captivated by the imaginative choreography, accuracy, and enthusiasm
displayed in every performance. It was truly a challenging competition, and while our team
didn’t secure the championship, each member played a role in making the celebration a success.
 Fredie Petallo
In the recent dance battle competition, all members worked hard. While our team did not secure
the championship, every member celebrated the success of our section.
 Bernard Pascual
The competition we held was one of the most memorable events for us because it helped us
showcase our talents in hip-hop and festival dance. Even though we didn’t win, the important
thing is that everyone enjoyed themselves, and we saw smiles on everyone's faces that day.

 Maccyne Padrinao
Kahit 1st and 2nd place lang
bawat isa.
 Peter King De Guzman
The recent event held on November 13, 2024, was great. It was a fun event where students and
teachers got to witness the talents that the Grade 12 classes are capable of producing. I enjoyed
watching my classmates and the other classes perform the dances they practiced and worked hard
on. It was a friendly and positive competition that helped us develop good relationships with
others. Our hip-hop group, full of energy, came in second place. Even though that was the
outcome, the faction had fun and remained smiling. As for the festival group, they wore colorful
costumes and told a great story. I hope more events like this will be held for students and
teachers to enjoy.
 Reynold Cadorna Blazo
The battle contest, where all the members were given dance moves, was fun. Our section was the
best, of course, because we are beautiful, but it’s okay even if we secured 1st and 2nd place.
Everyone who danced in the dance battle gave their best. Everyone showed talent, gave trust to
each other, and supported every member.
 Charie Munda
The Grade 12 students showcased their talent and unity as they happily performed on November
13, 2024, the day they had been preparing for, to display their abilities. As part of the technical
team, I helped create props for the dance battle, ensuring that the materials were easy for the
performers to use. We utilized various recycled materials, such as plastic bags, bottle caps, crepe
paper, yarn, and more, to make the props eco-friendly and cost-efficient. We also ensured that all
materials used were clean and carefully designed to align with the performance’s theme,
enhancing the visual impact of the dance battle.
 Kate Chua
The two groups gave their best during the competition, but both teams encountered challenges
during the preparation. As a result, the technical team had a hard time preparing due to a lack of
communication from the hip-hop team. Overall, I believe that when we have activities like this, it
is important to communicate with each other rather than making decisions individually, so we
wouldn't have a hard time preparing.

 John Christian Sagal

My insight into the recent event at Gen T High was pure joy and amazement at my classmates
who showed their talents in each competition they joined. As a technical assistant handling
props, I was also happy to help my classmates create theirs; even though we were tired as we
crammed in making the props, our efforts had paid off, making it all worthwhile.
(FESTIVAL GROUP)
 Ej Mercado
The festival was both challenging and rewarding, as I took on the roles of choreographer and
muse for San Roque. It allowed me to showcase my dance skills and step into choreography—
something I never imagined myself doing, as I always saw myself solely as a dancer. Most
fulfilling, however, for me, it was a political statement to proudly show my gender identity, that I
am a proud transwoman, and that my identity is an integral part of who I am, both on and off the
stage. Being able to merge these aspects of myself in an environment where I had previously felt
limited by gender norms was deeply fulfilling.
 Irish Tulpo
It was a very enjoyable experience in my life. This competition boosted my confidence to dance
and be myself against everyone. For me, this dance battle was another achievement in my life
because it challenged me every single day when we were practicing. But the difficult times
helped us grow more and become competitive, not by seeing others as enemies, but by seeing
them as a challenge that we need to cope with. This dance battle gave us more time to bond and
cherish the moments we had, and we just enjoyed the time that was given to us. It is another
achievement in our life, not just for me but for our section, because if they can do it, I'm 100%
sure we can do the same too.
 Adi Requiero
I'm so happy because we were all given the chance to showcase our talents, whether through
dance or creative crafts. We also got to bond during practice, which makes me even happier.
 Elyza Adrigado
The Dance Battle was really an amazing competition I have competed in so far because there
were a lot of people I encountered, and there were also a lot of lessons given to my team,
especially me. Despite a lot of unexpected malfunctions, from wardrobe issues to props, and
even just a few minutes before we performed, we still managed to perform and give our best.
 Elaiza Beth Bascos
I'm delighted to have participated in the competition, despite not winning the championship. Our
rehearsals fostered a sense of unity and togetherness, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
While our section may not have taken the top spot, our teamwork and joy shone through. The
winning section undoubtedly demonstrated exceptional talent, but every section showcased their
best efforts and skills in dance.

 Mark Lorica
The dance battle was a success because everyone had fun and gave their best performances. The
exhaustion and physical pain we endured were worth it, as we placed 2nd runner-up. I used to be
hesitant to join such activities, but my perspective has changed. It's not about being an
exceptional dancer; what matters is enjoying what you do and having fun.
 Tricia Reyes
The festival was a mix of excitement and nerves. It was my first time trying a dance battle,
something I never thought I'd do. It was a challenge, but I loved pushing myself to be creative. It
felt amazing to finish, and I learned that I can do more than I thought.
 Yasis Servento
All the dancers of the festival did everything for that competition, like me, who is not very good
at dancing but did everything to keep up with the dances being done. It was worth all the sweat
we put in to make our performance go well because, with the help of each other, we all passed.
We all did our best to win that competition.
 Jake Buquirin
We wouldn't have pulled off this incredible performance at the festival without the amazing
support of each other, the infectious energy of hip-hop, and the dedication of our technical team.
Every hour of hard work has paid off, and we've created a memory that will stay with us forever.
The festival crowd was so energetic, their cheers pushing us to give our absolute best. We poured
our hearts into every step, every beat, and every move, and the result was something truly
magical. This moment will always be a reminder of the power of collaboration, the passion of
hip-hop, and the unforgettable experience of dancing together at the festival.
 Jastin Austria
In our festival compilation, all the hard work of our technical team and our members, especially
EJ, was worth it. Even though we always made mistakes, he never gave up and taught us all the
steps. All the pain in our bodies was gone. Even though we didn't get 1st place, we still got 2nd
runner-up.
 Jadhen Miranda
It’s a remarkable accomplishment that showcases people’s hard work and effort. Achieving this
is a testament to how well the stakeholders are able to gel with each other, and that’s the
highlight of the performance: teamwork and coordination. Emphasizing again, the second
runner-up position, won through good effort in a competitive environment, points to a great level
of grit and tenacity to mark in every challenge faced. However, victories such as these also
provide lessons and aspects of progress, be it in workplace strategizing and planning, the quality
of work processes, or setting higher goals for the current or future processes. We have achieved a
great milestone as a team, and the next step is to perform even better at upcoming events. The
success is motivational, to say the least.

 Joven Guzman
What I can say about the recently held dance battle is that everyone showcased their dancing
skills. The Dance Battle was not just a competition, but a celebration of talent and unity, leaving
a lasting impression on both participants and spectators. It truly reflected the spirit of hope
through the art of dance, with each student performing routines that captivated the audience's
attention.
 Shimuel Magcale
The Dance Battle in the subject HOPE 3 was a fun, exciting, and competitive event where
students showcased their unique skills, creativity, and teamwork in dancing, often collaborating
in various dance styles. Each section performed either a hip-hop or festival dance, and it was
amazing to see the hard work of these students and the unique styles they incorporated in every
routine. What made it even more special was seeing classmates or other individuals we didn’t
expect to perform steal the spotlight with their talent and confidence. The event wasn’t just about
competition; it was about discovering hidden talents, supporting one another, and celebrating the
joy of dancing together as a school. So, this program serves as both self-expression and a test of
agility, rhythm, synchronization, and originality.

(HIP-HOP GROUP)
 Keven Jher Mongcog
As wonderful as the presentation of each representative of Durkheim was in the Dance Battle, so
too were the performers themselves. The event was not just a one-day competition but a
cherished memory for the Hip-Hop group that they will never forget. Some were seasoned
veterans, honed by previous competitions, while others were initially hesitant to join due to self-
doubt and low self-esteem. However, they were chosen for a reason, and they proved it on the
dance floor. Despite the many challenges during preparation, the moment they stepped onto the
floor on the big day, syncing with the music, made everything worth it. Although there was an
ounce of disappointment in not securing their third championship and settling for 1st runner-up,
they quickly recovered. Deep down, they realized that it’s not always about winning but about
the relationships and bonds formed during the process—it is something far more valuable than
any championship plaque.
 Kenneth Gabito
I learned from the previous dance competition in hip hop that you should always do your best
and be true to yourself. If you make a mistake, it's okay—because from that mistake, you will
learn something valuable that you can apply to another competition. So just show who you are
and make yourself happy for the moment.
 Janna Pilar
Stepping into that hip-hop dance battle was a rush of adrenaline and excitement. I felt the energy
of the crowd and the competitive spirit of my fellow dancers, pushing me to bring my A-game.
Every move, every expression, was a chance to tell my story through the language of hip hop,
and I poured my heart and soul into every step.

 Angelica Bajana
The dance battle is about confidence and showcasing one's identity, whether through innovative
moves, fluidity, or sheer passion. Many dancers approach battles with the mindset of pushing
each other to be better. One of the most powerful aspects of a dance battle is the way it fosters
personal growth and connection.
 Zak Dacasin
The dance battle that took place last week was a great opportunity for us students, as it allowed
us to showcase our dancing talents. What’s even better is that we all received awards as a class.
Furthermore, it’s not just the hip-hop and festival performances that should be highlighted—
kudos also to the technical working group, because without them, we wouldn’t have been able to
perform the way we did.
 Lyza Abarre
Initially uncertain about hip hop, I joined a festival and adjusted to the group despite challenges.
Our first practice was tough, but we built friendships and focused on our routine. On battle day, I
felt nervous seeing other sections' impressive outfits. With support, I performed, made a mistake,
but pushed through. Our teacher's encouragement motivated me. In the end, we placed first, and
our hard work felt rewarding.
 Jonathan Edumay
Participating in a hip-hop dance battle is an intense yet rewarding experience that pushes
personal boundaries and fosters growth. As a member of the dance battle, it’s a big pleasure for
me as part of the group to get 1st place in the hip-hop battle. I am also grateful to the other
group, who also gave their best for this battle. Their dedication and resilience in other matters are
a great help for the whole group.
 John Lloyd Balonio
The event I attended in our HOPE event taught me to be happy and to strengthen myself even
more when there are events like this. Overall, it was a great and new experience, and most
importantly, it was memorable.
 Julia Mae Calingacion
I learned a lot from the event last time, especially about being confident and giving my best. I
will never forget that event.
 Allondra Beatriz Magallanes
It was my first time participating in this kind of dance battle. I and the team that I was in has
encountered numerous issues and problems during the preparation for the battle and it was very,
very draining. I was just actually so done with a lot of dancing activities and that I really did not
want to participate at all. Now I came to the point after battle wherein I realized I really do like
dancing, I really love performing but it came to a thought that it was not actually my passion. I
tried loving it because I thought I might actually be able to enhance this skill on this field. Maybe
someday, I can bring this talent up again whenever I am ready but now is really not just the right
moment for me.
