What is BASF

Lupasol ? ®

BASF’s Lupasol® products are multifunctional, branched Noting its diverse set of use cases, Lupasol®
products are designed with an excellent
polyethyleneimines that feature a remarkably high cationic
ecotoxicological profile and are not acutely toxic
charge density. At lower pH, Lupasol® adsorbs tightly to or harmful, making them safer ingredients required

negatively charged surfaces, such as cellulose, polyesters, for future-focused formulations. In fact, many
grades comply with US FDA 21 CFR regulations,
polyolefins, metals, and anionic solids, including proteins, enabling their use in food contact applications.
zeolites, and silicates. This makes them highly effective
adhesion promoters, cross-linkers, and flocculants when
added at very low concentrations, and they add tremendous
value and functionality in applications such as coatings,
packaging inks, adhesives, water treatment, and more.

Key Lupasol Grades ®

Lupasol® grades should be selected based on molecular

weights similar to those of other polymers in the formulation.
Viscosity is also a key consideration. Lupasol® is infinitely
soluble in water and soluble in aprotic, nonpolar solvents.
Several other Lupasol® grades are also available based on
specific requirements.
